    We renewed. USPS misplaced both. Mine was found and processed. Global Entry update wouldn't work. Wife's passport not processed. Calls to congressional office. Passport appears like magic. My Global Entry update accepted. Wife's still not updated. Hopefully there is just a time lag from Passport service to Trusted Traveler or one of us will be waiting in line.

    Glad the "magic" happened and hope it happens for Mrs Dogwriter as well.

    Email requesting assistance sent to congressional rep's office at 5:00 pm yesterday. Email from State Department at 9:00 pm yesterday changing status on both applications from "Not Available" to "In Process". Absolutely incredible. Still have to wait for processing, but I'm feeling better with the new status particularly since we expedited return shipping. Thanks again Andrea. You were spot on correct with the advice.

    I am all for following the rules and playing the game fairly.........
    sadly, the state dept (passport depart) needs to step up and get more people back to work.
    however sometimes one has to find alternatives.

    Thank you for posting all this! When we go in October, my dad and stepmom are going to also go (as well as my two adult sons) and my stepmom has never had a passport before. She sent her application and money back in March and still has not gotten anything - passport or communication indicating it was received. I am going to have them contact their local reps to see if anyone can assist. I know we still have a few months, but with it being her first passport, she is getting really anxious over it all.
