What you're all talking about is the exact reason my wife and I don't bother taking advantage of the timeshare we have regular access to.
I can't recall the number of times some self-entitled owner sat in the chair I may have sat in got miffed about the fact that I or someone else was sitting in "their" chair. Ummmm, it wasn't your chair last week when you weren't here, nor will it be next week when you're gone, so guess what jackass? It isn't your chair now either. Just because you may have put your fat backside in the chair one or two days and you like populating the pool with your entire obnoxious entourage, that doesn't entitle you to take over the resort.

Yeah, I've dealt with some real pieces of work at the timeshare....

    Ever again?

    No, never again.

Sorry but your “obviously retired (or retarded)” is pretty offensive in this retired person’s opinion!

The use of the word "retard" is offensive to anyone who appreciates people for who they are. I am sure my step-sister would prefer me to call her Kim rather than my retard sister Kim. Sorry but that word makes me angry beyond belief.

My sincerest apologies to all and any I have offended.
I really should have chosen my wording better.

I had a very similar thing happen in front of me, but I was not directly involved. I was comfortably ensconced under a palapa, admiring the setup of a couple beneath a palapa right in front of me. They had chairs, towels, drinks, food, etc. Some time later a man arrived and took the palapa next to this couple. He was looking at the couple for a while and eventually approached them. He explained that his family had been coming to Aruba for years and they had always used the couple's palapa. This went on for a bit and I thought it was going to settle down. It did not. The couple stuck to their rights but the man soon became unhinged. When push and shove seemed imminent, I arose and interposed myself between the verbal combatants. I was able to get them settled down by talking common sense. The couple stayed where they were as did the man. I went off on a long walk and when I returned the would be warriors were talking and laughing like they were best friends. the end.
