    Power outage on Island

there is a power outage on Aruba.
not sure how extensive it is, but I do know that it includes downtown and the Renaissance Suites.
(got a message from a friend staying there)

I just saw that on Facebook. What would you all do?
I would grab a drink or two or a few and sit on my balcony and listen. It must be very quiet except for the waves.

    and maybe a 55th b-day in Aruba, Feb, 2020

We are here now. Staying at the Divi AI. Power has been off and on since about 6pm. Casino has spotty power. It's 10:45 pm and power just went out again. Sitting on balcony with cocktail in hand. All is good! Heading home tomorrow...☹️. Great time. Will do trip report when we return but spent most of the week relaxing!

The folks at the Bucuti were comfortable due to the generators!

We've been there when the power is out but during the day, so we just headed to the pool. If was night time, probably sit on the balcony and drink. Talk with neighbors. Read using my kindle. Go to bed earlier than usual.

I was talking to the bartender last night at the Marriott. There are emergency generators on site. The generators run the refrigerators and freezers in the restaurants and they power the pool bar. So nice that the Surf Club has their priorities straight.
