After a momentary tantrum, I'd realize, similar to what Walt said, a rainy day in Aruba is better than a day in Ohio".

I would find a palapa (hey, they're island umbrellas) and park myself with a drink and my book. What can be awesome is to watch the storms, clouds and rain out over the sea. They can be awesome pictures.

By the way, I remember hearing June was one of the top 5 rainiest Junes in northeast Ohio

    and maybe a 55th b-day in Aruba, Feb, 2020

We drank like rock stars all day....lol. We had lunch at Madero and had a new record amount of drinks with lunch then went for a walk in between the rain storms. The skies opened up when we were at the Hyatt so we stopped for 2 drinks. Once the rain stopped we started our walk back and it began to rain again so we stopped at the Playa for 2 more drinks, lol. This how we spent our rain day....CJ did Ritz kids and we did the bar tours.

Highly unusual that it is not a passing shower.
Vacationers, probably are not as thrilled.

What to do on a rainy day?

Nice to get off the compound once in a while isn't it?

Have had a few rainy days in past years, I used to cross the street and go to Alhambro casino for a while or at least until the smokers drove me out (lol)....One of our fun memories was a day it downpoured for hours, sat at the pizza bar at Divi where everyone else was hanging, people who were not lucky enough to have a seat trying to hide inside the bar area where there was a roof. The staff all running back and forth to get supplies wearing trash bags as ponchos and visitors running to and from like they have never seen a raindrop! So many laughs that day, lots of tipsy people waiting for the rain to stop. Favorite part of a rainy day is finding a beautiful rainbow when the sun returns

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

    Mornin',

If we experience a bit of a downpour in Aruba (rare indeed!) we usually go for a drive, although care needs to be taken as roads can become flooded very quickly; any drainage that does exist cannot handle more than a moderate rainfall.

After the rain, everything turns from brown to green.

Another post-rainfall observation; as in every mosquito that was sleeping wakes up at the same time and they would like to have dinner with you. Of course, you are the dinner. Pass the "Off" please.

If it rains, we go exploring around the neighborhoods to see the houses and the different areas.

I bring DVDs and my LRC dice to Aruba. Between those and the "let's invent some new cocktails" game, my resort 'family' and I can usually pass the rainy day time very easily!
