Sunset's "green flash"

Most of us love Aruba's sunsets.
Have any of you been lucky enough to see "the green flash?"

My son took this photo in 2007 or 2008. He was on his semester at sea on the Mass Maritime training ship when it was in Aruba.

He was so excited he called us and said "I have been waiting for this all my life"



I thought that I saw a flash once, but the friends that we were with did not see it, nor did Paul..........they told me it was my imagination.
I think they were just jealous that I saw it and they did not.

Lol I never saw the green flash but it looks pretty cool!

I know I saw it once in St. Maarten and I think once in Aruba.

Believe we saw it once at Siesta Key. I know a few people who saw it there. Hope we get to see it in Aruba someday.

I have seen it three times in Aruba. The conditions have to be right ie. no clouds at the horizon. We try to witness the sunsets every night with a libation of course.

We've been fortunate to see it several times over many years in Aruba, and it's amazing! Agree, the conditions have to be "just right". We do not leave the beach until after the sun sets every day, which I guess ups our chances of seeing it :-) and is also why we end not getting out the for dinner until after 8pm!
