Don't worry - worst case is winds will slow down (a lot) and it will get very hot. We were in Aruba during TS Gonzalo in July 2020. Living in Florida, we are always prepared for hurricane season. We kept the booze flowing and were amazed at Aruba's residents not paying any attention at all to what might be coming their way. Zero preparation It was so strange.

Here at home, as soon as the weather guy mentions something "might" be coming our way, Publix shelves are ravaged. Depending on the path, your flight might be delayed and you get to stay in Aruba an extra day. Not so bad. Here is the 5 day from NOAA - https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=5

We are headed down on July 9th. Hope this moves along quickly. Now go pour another beverage.

Our area got pummeled with hurricane Irma in 2017.
we were very prepared and were able to keep our airco and refrigeration and freezer running thanks to the generator. Since Aruba is sort of ( advertised) as being out of the hurricane belt … I suspect that Arubans just assume that it will be a miss. Hide from the wind and run from the water!!

There are some mumblings and rumblings about the rains that are could be expected.
As of now this is not a tropical storm or a hurricane.
It is a small batch of disorganized thunderstorms that are expected to turn to the next phase..a tropical depression.
There is no mad huge exit of folks on the island.
The folks that are leaving today left because that was part of their plan.
People are "waiting for it to be more obvious/defined"

We will not make a mad dash.
Our flight is on Saturday and if it is cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule and utilize our trip insurance.

We spent the morning at Eagle beach hanging out in front of LaCabana and the only concern is......... nothing!!
