    Walking

When we are in Aruba, I get in a little walking (very little.)
Sometimes early morning I will walk from LaCabana up towards the Divi Phoenix and other times I walk south towards the Alhambra.
I very much appreciate the new walkway that the gvmn't put in a few years ago.

I start out on day 2 or my vacation all motivated, but by day 5 or 6, I have little ambition, but continue to trek on but with a bit of an attitude instead of my usual "sweetness and light."
If there is no breeze I skip the walk altogether.

Some of you are walkers, joggers, runners or bikers.
What do you do and what is your route?

I watch Patti walk north from Manchebo all the way up beyond Amsterdam Manor twice a day and south beyond Divi once or twice a day. She walks enough for both of us! I do walk to the casino in the evening and then back, but I dunno if that counts!

We like to walk on the beach and usually walk from the Marriott to the Hyatt or Bugaloe and back. Larry loves to walk more but we are not early morning walkers. Wish we were. So he needs to watch the sun later morning even with sunscreen on.

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

Is watching other people walk considered an activity? If it is, I'm all in! Lol.

I often walk/jog from the Ritz to the lighthouse and back more walking than running most trips though. I have also walked to Casa Del Mar a few times to meet people for drinks and walked back as well. I enjoy walking and always bring a few bucks to get a cold water for the walk back. Now that we have stayed in a condo off the strip we have walked a number of the newer neighborhoods as well. The other walk I take once or twice each trip is walking all of Palm Beach on the sand.
Trip 38 booked for Feb! Cant wait.

When I walk here, I usually go to about the Phoenix or Rui depending on how I am feeling and how much it stinks. I like to go up the steep driveway of the Rui to get my heart rate up. Sometimes, especially if the odor is bad, I will walk up and through Eagle Aruba and loop back through LaCabana to get in the distance I want rather than going past Amsterdam Manor. I will also go in the other direction to Alhambra and then go up the street where the Pearl is located. I've walked in other areas, but with no sidewalk, I don't do it often. I really got to get back to walking in the am or after dinner. I also sometimes, if it is rainy, walk the property and the hallways of the buildings and get my heart rate up using the steps.

We stay at Playa Linda, and my early morning walk is the paved walkway along Palm Beach up to and often past the new Embassy Suites. On a slower day I stop at Divi Phoenix. Every step negates the effects of the afternoon margaritas!

We walk from Playa Linda to La Cabana and do the reverse when we are staying at La Cabana during our 2 week stay in May. We will then have breakfast somewhere and then walk back to our starting destination. We Do it in early moring because after about 9 am it can get a little humid. Midday forget it. Going in a few week to the Radisson Blu and looking foward to it.

There is definitely a connection between walking and margaritas......! I'd walk a good distance for a good one!

Kind of like "I'd walk a mile for a camel?"
