    Good God why don’t they give it up and call it a day?!
    Does the Aruban Government own the land??

    It is such an eyesore now. IMO, they need to either use it or tear it down and remediate the soil. They can put in housing for Arubans, or a park or if the coastline there would work a beach but no development for tourist.

    What Rona left out is that the Aruban Prime Minister specifically said that the letter Citgo sent out to it's local employees was not what they had agreed to with Aruba under the signed MoU. It can be seen as a "face saving" letter by Citgo.

    From the PM: "During the negotiations with Citgo, they asked us to in case we don't find alternative investors or buyers, that Citgo would remain as the first in line to take the refinery over again at that stage". "The government agreed to Citgo's proposal so that they could agree on a deal giving Aruba back control of the refinery". Further adding that: "we don't think Citgo will come back, because the situation in Venezuela is only getting worse and we don't think we will be unable to find alternative investors".
