What made you choose Aruba for your first visit?

I love the beach but Tom never goes in the water so finding a place to vacation wasn’t always easy. Well that, and Tom refused to fly for 25 years! So, I needed to find something that would draw Tom in. When I saw that Aruba had casinos, I though perfect. After a little research I noticed that Aruba has a very consistent weather pattern. Does Aruba even need a weather man? So I booked it.

Aruba is the only vacation spot I have found that we both have something to enjoy. While I could stay on the beach all day, I have to admit I’ve really learned to love the casinos.

I love the beach...any beach! In 2015, I was turning 60. I wanted to do something special. I had friends who had been to Aruba several times and raved about it. I'd never been to the Caribbean. I had a friend who loved to travel and I knew she'd be up for going anywhere. So off we went to celebrate my 60th! It was love at first sight. So much so we went back again the following year...then I went by myself in 2019 and loved it even more. Was supposed to go last year but Covid squashed those plans. August trip for 10 days is all scheduled. I'm officially addicted to the Happy Island for the beaches, the food, and the wonderful people. I've never felt so at home away from home!

My mom won a lottery and said she wanted to take the family on vacation. She went to a travel agent and asked for recommendations. The agent had just been on a junket to Aruba and suggested that to her. Mom booked it for 5 days not knowing anything about the island. After 2 days there she was sorry she didn't book a longer stay.
We stayed at the Bushiri. All Inclusive including sports equipment and scuba lessons. My kids were hooked on Scuba since that trip and got their PADI.
Two years later my husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and decided a trip back to Aruba was the perfect trip. A rainy day during the trip had us going to a time share offer and the rest is history. Been back all but one year for the last 22 years. (Yes we were there in October, 2020)Going twice this year Hurray!!!

We went to a travel agent to get information on Costa Rica. She asked questions on what we were looking for and Aruba checked many more of the boxes for us. Were planning a September wedding and a travel agent recommended Aruba due to less risk of hurricanes and relaxing beaches as well as the rough side for ATVs. It seemed to have everything we were looking for.

We were looking for a spot out of the hurricane zone for our honeymoon and asked our "travel agent"- ancient term I know, where to go. She had been great with her suggestions previously and we decided to follow he suggestion of the Hyatt in Aruba. That was 25 years ago this June! Wow has time flown bye.

I was with a bunch of my ski and dive buddies and we took a trip to Bonaire in 1979 or 80.
We had a pre Bonaire and post Bonaire Aruba stay.
I was hooked!

We were newer timeshare owners in Florida and we put in a request for all the Gold timeshares in the Caribbean for Christmas week on II. We got the Ren and we fell in love. That was in 2007.

My dad passed away in 1987. A friend recommended that me and my brothers take my Mom on a family vacation. Aruba was recommended which we never heard of or even knew where it was located. We booked in the 1990s me, my 2 brothers and Ms Daisy. We exchanged from our West Gate time share in Kissimmee to a 2 bedroom unit at Paradise Beach Villas. We really enjoyed out trip the beach, pool, restaurants and there were a few club/bar lounges then for young people which we went to. We also did a jeep tour, rented a car and went to St Nicholas, baby beach etc. We only went for a week but kept really busy the whole week.

I am a huge fan of Caribbean Life on HGTV and would watch it every Sunday night. Hubs and I decided we wanted to go somewhere nice for a vacation, so I started making a list of all the islands in the Caribbean that they showed. We would watch the shows and research the islands. One night, I started also singing the ol' "Kokomo" song (annnnd, you're welcome for the ear worm now) out loud and we decided to go one by one through those places to see which we liked best. Clearly, we did not get very far into the song. I started looking on Airbnb for places in Aruba, found one that blew my mind and we booked it on the spot. That was March 2019, so we are relative newbies regarding Aruba. We went a second time in October 2020 (same Airbnb) and are planning two weeks for our next trip this October (at the same Airbnb - she is awesome!!). In fact, it is 8 months from tomorrow that we go!

We were introduced to Aruba through a relative who had a timeshare at Costa Linda in 1997.This place is amazing been going every other year since, alternating with Disney. Now that my kids are adults we plan on going at least 2 times a year going forward. I love how i feel safe on the island not looking over my shoulder walking around . Everything is beautiful . The Island has changed quite a bit in 25 years but still my go to for a relaxing beach vacation. With the low cost of the rooms this year ,I may sneak a third trip in.
