We are booked Sept 3 thru Sept 20 and I actually persuaded my sister and husband to fly from England direct to Aruba. All is paid for except for the car rental with Hans at Tropic.Delta keeps updating with e mails and so far it’s a go for them. Whether it’s a go for us is another matter.Have been pretty isolated/self quarantined here in the countryside of upstate New York (about an hour or so west from Canadaigua lake for the member who just bought a property there). I check the forum daily ...sometimes twice a day and am so thankful for you guys a) for keeping me sane and b) for all the excellent information that I get from all of you.Andrea....you are funny sometimes,so informative and I love your posts. Lisa...thank you for being an essential worker ..I am really grateful to you and people like you. Sorry I have forgotten the names of the parents whose son is working on the frontline....literally...and may he stay safe and healthy through all this. I have a question for anyone who lives in Massachusetts....my son is going there to work next week and I need to know the rules re mask wearing and if the stores have sufficient supplies of food etc as he has an RV to live in.Thanks

Hi! We live in Quincy, just south of Boston. Masks are required in all public places. Also, if you are walking in an area where it is not possible to social distance (6 foot rule). I have avoided going to the grocery store and book delivery instead. Toilet paper can still be hard to find as are any type of disinfecting wipes. Flour is another item that is not available. Some stores have limitations on meat. A few times I was not able to get chicken and still have been unable to get ground pork but the supply overall seems adequate.

    thanks for the good words!
I expect that you WILL get to Aruba in Sept!
Stay well and keep visiting the forum.

I have nothing funny right now that comes to mind.........I have been quarantined too long and my mind is mush and I think that I am suffering from rabies from puppy bites!
Robin's son is an EMT and is on the front line. Brady Bear is a nurse and is on the front line. (she has seen more death in the last 2 months than in her whole nursing career)
Other forum members I am sure are front line workers too.

I'm finding Target stores in SE Mass are generally ok with TP and towels.... and usually disinfectant wipes when I go Sunday morning. I've also been OK finding meat at the supermarkets. I think the major shortages generally appear in more populated areas. I envy your trip for September....!

Your son should be okay. I have not struggled getting anything except chicken breast of late. Our supermarket is often out of toilet paper but its always at our local corner store so it is around for sure.

We will be headed your way soon! Hoping for some nice warm weather to warm up the lake.

Thanks so much for all the information...makes my mind rest easy..I knew you guys would let me know the facts. Now going to fill up his RV with all that he needs cos he is a procrastinator just focused on the job requirements and not much else. But when he runs out of anything I know he will be able to find it there.

simmsejs, that's very kind of you but in all honesty it's the Connecticut legislature and pressure from the Bar Association that technically made me an "essential" worker. I'm nothing but a real estate paralegal and we were allowed to stay open. Don't get me wrong, I've been very grateful to be able to go to work everyday through all of this, but it's value IMO is limited (other than to keep me employed and solvent!) in comparison to Robin's brave EMT son and bradybear, a frontline nurse. They and others like them are my heroes.
