Your Favorite Thing To Do On The Island

Trying to get some different ideas for my extended stay coming up in 5 months (yes I'm planning WAY ahead because I know how booked things get Christmas/New Years time!)

Besides beaches, pools & casinos, what is the 1 thing you most look forward to doing when you visit?

Maybe it's a specific excursion, maybe it's a hike or something in nature, a visit to a certain store even? I've knocked a lot of things off 'the list' over the years, but give me some ideas!

Aside from the beach.........we love going to watch the windsurfers and wind sailers !
We have gone to the windsurfing area many times, plopped down our chairs and planted our bums into those seats and are sufficiently entertained!

Then there are the casinos ....

That’s the best part of Aruba and vacation in general. No plans, just do whatever. When you are home, you have appts, schedules, work for those who are not retired. I love not having anything in particular. Go to the beach, dinner wherever we feel like it, meet up with friends who are there the same time we are, casinos, shopping but in no particular order.

For me it will always be the beach followed by casinos and dining out. For my husband it would be a massage at Spa Del Sol @ Manchebo

Dinner at "Wilhelmina" and a visit to "EuroKitchen" to see the new installs.

I watch the sunset Every Day, while sitting on the beach, sometimes from the room balcony, sometimes from a beach bar, at least once or twice from a restaurant (Faro Blanco at the lighthouse, Pelican Nest on the pier at Holiday Inn just to name a couple).

Being on the beach at sunset is amazing to me as the water activities have subsided, the beach noise has disappeared and I can often hear a little island music in the background. It's the only time I really sit still, LOL. I tend to take after my grandmother who seemed to never sit down. Give me a drink and a sunset and I'm set. My family knows my sunset obsession and that I won't be ready for dinner until after I take my 50 photos of the sun going below the horizon. I could wallpaper a small roomYour Favorite Thing To Do On The Island-aua-1-jpg with all of those stinking pictures. Your Favorite Thing To Do On The Island-aua-5-jpg

And, what is very interesting, if you focus on the horizon, you can actually see the sun falling (well, technically we know the earth is rotating making it seem as though the sun......)

Hoping for a 30th anniversary trip to our favorite place.
