Another option would be the Marriott Ocean Club.
(Don't book via Marriott, rent from an owner an save lot's of $$$)

Even Tripadvisor awarded the OC as Traveler's choice Winner 2009

I agree with JRT X2, the Marrriott Surf is VERY family friendly. The lazy river is great for kids, there are lots of planned activities and the accommodations work well for families with a washer /dryer in the room, as well as full kitchen, etc. The location also allows you to walk to multiple restaurants. Most renters /owners seem to be families with kids.

we have always stayed at the tamajin divi all inclusive, kids 17 and under stay free, food is amazing, many resturants at the resort to go to, not just some crummy cafeteria. FREE "kids club" my 8 year old always finds friends, they do lots of fun activities and swimming. I can bring her there and head off to the casino, shopping, nap or alone time. she comes and goes as she pleases, entertainment all the time, rooms are right on the beach, 40 steps you're in the water, dont' have to share it with the rest of the island!! Clean clean clean comfortable rooms, they GO OUT OF THIER WAY to accomodate us. I wouldn't stay anwhere else. we pay $520 a night for a family of 5--that's two connecting rooms both for the $520 and food, snacks, ALL drinks ALL the time free free free!

forgot to mention, some one posted if you have a family of 5 or more you have to stay at the dutch suiets, not true, we never have. you get two connecting rooms for much cheaper, we have 3 kids and that is what we do, technically one adult has to be in one of the rooms, but no one makes a stink about it, my 16 y.o. and her 12 y.o. sister stay in one room themselves, they are right next door and no big deal, no one says anything, they know we're together. Dutch is going to be much more $$
