Have a great night out at Dragon Fly, the latest addition to the Arawak Garden, boasting an Asian menu and sushi lounge.
Sushi lovers can choose their preferred seating: at standard tables, booths or the bar inside (with air conditioning of course) or outside on the terrace at standard tables or high tables.
The chef at the Dragonfly is truly amazing: he has a wealth of experience in working at several high-end sushi restaurants and his excellent rolls and sashimi get rave reviews. The barman offers amazing cocktails, Martinis, sparkling wines, champagne and rosé as well as several brands of sake.
Dragonfly offers specials for two, four or six persons as well as traditional Japanese ramen with your choice of veggies, chicken, beef or shrimp. There is a great kids’ menu available as well as a dessert menu and the bar serves premium beverages, cocktails, sake and other wines.
Opening hours are from 4 pm until 1 am (the kitchen closes at 11 pm); the Arawak Garden offers live music on the stage outside and there is free parking for guests.
The menu is varied and enticing and the specials call out to you when you peruse the elegantly presented list of options. The two-person special, for instance, consists of a California roll, a Dragon roll, two salmon sashimi, two tuna sashimi and two crab sashimi, while the four-person special is made up of a dynamite roll, a bum bum roll, a New York roll, an Alaska roll and four salmon sashimi, four tuna sashimi and four crab sashimi. The six-person special offers an Alaska roll, a tiger roll, a Dragon roll, a temptation roll, a spicy tuna roll, six tuna sashimi and six grouper sashimi. Of course you can also order your personal favourites, starting with soups and salads (thon kagay, miso or tempura soups, a dynamite salad and Asian salad or a mozzarella salad).
Just naming a few delicious choices from the menu: edamame, ebi 9shrimp) tempura, grouper butterfly, salmon tiradito, gyozas or chicken won-ton; from the wok there is phad Thai, Cantonese fried rice, red curry beef and green curry veggies. Main courses include orange chicken, bal-mon ban bu, chicken teriyaki and Mongolian beef. The dessert menu looks wonderful with its crèpe de Nutella, banana tempura, fried ice cream or flambeed fruit, mixed fruit sautéed in triple sec with vanilla ice cream.
