Global Travellers Give Aruba the Thumbs-Up

Experienced travellers from around the globe have given a host of accolades to the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba.

Users of the leading travel website Tripadvisor have given the island a thumbs up in a number of categories, underlining its place as one of the world’s leading sun, sea and sand destinations. This was further endorsed recently with the decision by British Airways to start flying direct to Aruba from the UK from March 2023.

Voting in the 2022 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, jetsetters put three of Aruba’s beaches in the Top 25 in the Caribbean.  Aruba’s noted Eagle Beach came in at No 3, with the delightful Baby Beach in the south of the island taking the No 14 spot. For good measure, Arashi Beach came in at No 21.

The island is also picked out as one of Tripadvisor’s Trending Destinations in the world – places that are up and coming. The website highlights that Aruba is ‘the quintessential Caribbean island, all sun and sea and stretches of powdery white sand. Time will slow to a pleasant crawl as you linger over a tropical cocktail or flutter serenely underwater, where only the parrotfish are in a hurry.’

Meanwhile, in the Travellers’ Choice hotel section, Aruba’s renowned Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort is highlighted several times. It ranks as one of the top 25 hotels in the world, gains second place in top 25 hotels in the Caribbean, and fifth most romantic hotel in the Caribbean

Getting to Aruba is made easier with the decision by British Airways to launch twice-weekly direct flights to Aruba from London-Gatwick from March 26, 2023, offering the UK’s first direct scheduled service to the island.

In addition, British Airways Holidays is offering a range of holiday packages to the island, featuring some 15 hotels.

Seven nights at the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, for example is available from £1,789 per person, travelling on selected dates between May 1 and 31 May 2023 inclusive.

British Airways Holidays also offers seven nights at the 5* Barcelo Aruba, from £1,979 per person or seven nights at the 3* Talk of the Town Hotel, from £979 per person. Both packages are also based on travelling on selected dates in May, 2023

All these holidays Include economy (World Traveller) return flights from London Gatwick Airport, 23kg luggage allowance and accommodation. Book by 30 September 2022 at www.britishairways.com/aruba
