September, October & November Getaway Destinations

Accommodations

A new temporary place to call home while escaping your own; in this section, we will show you which accommodations will make you forget about the gray skies that currently surround you. What we are looking for is a home with modern, comfortable amenities that also remind you that you’re in sunny Aruba.

Things to Do

People who have been to Aruba before know that there are so many different activities to enjoy, but those who’ve never visited the One happy island may not be aware of all that it has to offer. Sometimes, travel planning can be quite overwhelming, so for this blog post, we’ve hand-picked the best things to do in Aruba that remind us the most of summer.

Affordability

With the holidays right around the corner, we figured you would probably want to save some money for gift shopping and decorating, and fortunately, the best fall getaways in Aruba don’t have to break the bank. Since fall is off-season for the One happy island, flights and accommodations will already be much more affordable. All destinations selected in this post will allow you a budget-proof vacation.

Crowdedness

Depending on the type of traveler you are, you may or may not enjoy the hustle and bustle of certain vacation destinations. While Aruba isn’t very crowded during the fall months anyway, we will still break down how busy each of the selected destinations are so you can make an educated selection.

Top Fall Vacation Destinations

Here they are, the Caribbean’s 4 best holiday destinations in October and November.

Savaneta

Mangrove's at Mangel Halto

The city of Savaneta, tranquil neighborhoods, scenic views, rich culture, authentically Aruban.

Accommodations

While you won’t find any big resorts in Savaneta, the city has a selection of boutique experiences and vacation rentals. One of the places you will definitely want to visit during fall is The Old Man and the Sea Ocean Villas. These luxurious overwater villas are very cozy and the view of the crystal clear Caribbean Sea is excellent. You will also be granted access to dine at the exclusive The Old Man and the Sea restaurant.

If you are in search of a bed and breakfast experience, book your stay at Club Arias Bed & Breakfast Aruba. This boutique hotel provides personalized 24-hour service to cater to your every need!

Savaneta also offers a selection of vacation rentals too, so be sure to check them out on websites like Airbnb.

Things to Do

In order to take full advantage of Aruba’s superb fall weather, we present you with the top outdoorsy activities to enjoy in Savaneta.

If you ask a local what their favorite things to do near Savaneta are, they will probably mention going to Mangel Halto beach located in the nearby Pos Chiquito area. This beach is a great spot for snorkeling and family trips as waters are clear and shallow, and the picturesque mangrove network supports an ecosystem of beautiful sea life.

Savaneta is also a fisherman’s town, so whether you’re a seasoned fisherman, or you just want to try something new, go to Savaneta! Chat up the local fishermen for some tips and tricks and maybe you will be preparing your very own freshly caught fish in Aruba.

Affordability

Since the city of Savaneta mainly revolves around connecting with nature and being outside, staying here is quite affordable. Beach days and fishing trips are both very popular inexpensive activities.

If you are staying at a vacation rental, you might want to prepare your own meals. The local supermarkets in the quiet Savaneta area are all quite reasonably priced! If you’re not great at cooking, don’t fret, because there are also wonderful local and affordable dining options like the famous Zeerover seafood restaurant. You will certainly get lots of bang for your buck at Zeerovers, which features sizable portions of fresh seafood with a unique Aruban taste.

Crowdedness

If you are not a big fan of crowds, Savaneta is one of the best places to holiday in October and throughout the Fall, because you are guaranteed to find a nice spot on the beach without too much commotion.

Palm Beach

SONY DSC

The Palm Beach Area, home of the ever-popular Palm Beach is located on the North-side of the island and serves as the epicenter of tourism and the embodiment of Aruba’s multicultural appeal.

Accommodations

There are a multitude of accommodation options when it comes to staying in the Palm Beach area. To keep those summer memories alive, we suggest you stay at one of the beachfront resorts or at the hotels that are at walking distance from the Palm Beach Strip. The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino and the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino have beautifully landscaped outdoor areas, decorated to accentuate the Caribbean atmosphere.

If you would rather stay at a vacation rental, we suggest choosing a property close to the beach. For some tips on how to find the vacation rental that suits you best, check out our guide to finding the perfect Aruba vacation rental.

Things to Do

When you’re staying in Palm Beach, you will never run out of fun things to do. For those of you that came to Aruba so you can play around in the water just a little bit longer, Palm Beach is one of the best destinations for your October or November getaways.

From parasailing to snorkeling and from sailing in a submarine to singing old tunes at a beach bar, Palm Beach has it all. The surrounding area also has many great activities that will remind you of summer, like visiting the Butterfly Farm or getting a scoop of delicious artisanal gelato at Gelatissimo.

Affordability

There is a common misconception that traveling to Palm Beach is guaranteed to break the bank. This couldn’t be further from the truth! There are definitely more luxurious options in the Palm Beach area, but if you would like to pinch a penny on your November vacations, that’s possible too.

Opt for a Palm Beach vacation rental rather than a luxury resort. Pick one close to the Palm Beach strip and you will save on transportation costs as many activities are at a walking distance from each other. Finally, visit some of the local hole-in-the-wall spots for dinner. Not only will you enjoy a great meal, but you can also rest assured that you will get a generous portion. That’s how we eat in Aruba, after all!

Of course, you could also keep costs lower by limiting your time spent on the island taking fall weekend getaways instead of longer trips. If you want to save some money, you’re not ready for a full Aruba vacation or you just want to take a weekend off to relax, this is a great option.

Crowdedness

The Palm Beach area is known for its lively atmosphere. While there is always something going on in Palm Beach, the ambiance is never overwhelming. If you prefer a more tranquil environment every now and then you can easily visit the nearby Eagle Beach for some rest and relaxation.

Oranjestad

Tour guide combining history with pure entertainment to hold the attention and interest of his audience.

Oranjestad, our vibrant capital, is uniquely fulfilling Fall vacation destination. Visiting Oranjestad will give you a sense of what drives the Aruban people and what earned Aruba the title of One happy island.

Accommodations

Those who would like to stay right near the city center of Oranjestad will greatly enjoy Talk of the TownRenaissance Ocean Suites or Renaissance Marina Hotel. While Talk of the Town is right across from Surfside Beach, The Renaissance hotels are conveniently located at walking distance from the downtown shopping area. The hotels mentioned all have the benefit of easy beach access!

Things to Do

In order to really take advantage of those precious rays of sun, we recommend the following outdoor activities.

Get to know the history of the city of Oranjestad while strolling through the center and enjoying some local snacks with the Aruba Walking Tours. You will learn a lot about your favorite vacation destination while discovering our shopping area with a quick introduction to all that’s available there. Pick the stores that piqued your interest during the tour and prepare to spend as much time in them as you’d like afterward.

Speaking of shopping, did you know Oranjestad has a free hop-on-hop-off trolley that will take you to the shopping area? Simply get on at any of the stops and enjoy the ride!

Affordability

Staying in Oranjestad can be very affordable. Choose a boutique hotel or rent your very own apartment if you prefer a little more space. Activities in Oranjestad do not have to be pricey either. On Tuesday evenings, the Bon Bini Festival takes place. This is a festival showcasing and celebrating Aruban culture and admission is only $5! With the Arubus bus station located right in the city center, it is easy to get from point A to point B for just a few bucks!

Crowdedness

While Oranjestad is not the busiest city in Aruba, it is still quite lively, especially during the day and early evenings. When there is a cruise ship in port, Oranjestad gets just a little bit busier with travelers like yourself. Because Oranjestad is a hot spot for locals and tourists, you will probably make a few Aruban friends during your stay here.

Eagle Beach

View of a palapa and palm tree on eagle Beach.

Eagle Beach is one of Aruba’s most popular beaches. Who wouldn’t want to travel here, especially when reminded of the gloomy weather back home?

Accommodations

We understand that you may want to be as close to the beach as possible at all times. If this is the case, you should look into hotels like Amsterdam Manor Beach ResortLa Cabana Beach Resort & CasinoMVC Eagle Beach Resort ArubaManchebo Beach Resort & Spa or some very conveniently located vacation rentals.

Things to Do

When you’re not sunbathing, swimming or jet skiing on Eagle Beach, rated by TripAdvisor as the 3rd best beach in the world, you can treat yourself to some amazing culinary experiences during your stay. Passions on the Beach offers a cozy toes-in-the-sand experience. Be sure to arrive right before the sun goes down, and you’ll be in for a colorful sunset show.

Pega Pega Beach Bar & Grill offers a very beachy laid-back experience. You could visit for a couple of drinks or enjoy a late lunch from their new and improved menu.

Affordability

Eagle Beach is perfectly located in between the Palm Beach area and Oranjestad, offering you the opportunity to enjoy all the affordable perks of both those locations, with convenient and affordable transportation options readily available as well.

Crowdedness

While Eagle Beach is one of the most popular Aruba beaches, it is rarely very crowded. The beach is so long and wide that there is plenty of space for everyone. The surrounding area is typically very quiet too, which is why so many people choose Eagle Beach as their destination for wellness retreats!
