Aruba offers a world-class shopping experience, with a greater selection of international brand-name products and luxury retailers than anywhere else in the Caribbean or South America, at prices that are generally lower than in the United States. Buy local handmade souvenirs directly from the artists at local galleries, find great steals at Aruba's jewelers and enjoy dining and entertainment in one of Aruba's many shopping malls.

Aruba offers a bountiful selection of shopping/entertainment centers in the high-rise resort area and store-lined streets and upscale malls in downtown Oranjestad, as well as unique boutiques and emporiums. Aruba shops are brimming with diamonds, gold and silver jewelry, timepieces, perfumes and cosmetics, state-of-the-art electronics, beach and resort wear, designer apparel and accessories, lingerie, fine linens and china, collectibles, handicrafts, and souvenirs. Friendly, multilingual salespeople will assist you. *Some shops are closed part of the day or all day Sunday.

Downtown Oranjestad Shopping

Oranjestad, the island’s original shopping mecca, is livelier than ever.  The year 2013 ushered in a new era for the Island’s capital with the introduction of the Caribbean’s first streetcar line. Three streetcars, designed in San Francisco and utilizing clean energy sources, take shoppers and sightseers through the heart of downtown (it’s free of charge and you can hop on and off at several stops along the way), where both historic Dutch colonial architecture and world-class shopping await.  Check out the Cosecha Arts & Crafts, a monumental store to buy art direclty from local artists. Whether you prefer international designer brands or quaint, one-of-a-kind boutiques, the downtown scene is a shopper’s delight.

Parking is available in the free lot behind the bus station; taxi and bus service will also get you downtown in minutes. Regular shopping hours are from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, but there are sometimes extended hours when cruise ships are in port.
