About

Easter and Easter Monday are official holidays in Aruba.

Easter and Easter Monday are public holidays in Aruba and along with Good Friday, these holidays form a long Easter holiday weekend. Many Arubans attend church, visit their families and participate in egg hunts, but the biggest Easter tradition of all is camping on the beach!

For decades entire families have been unpacking their tents and transforming several Aruban beaches into complete campgrounds. Eagle Beach, Hadicurari Beach and Baby Beach in particular are packed with tents and improvised kitchens.

However, camping is prohibited on the beaches opposite the hotels in Palm Beach. During Easter, the hotels and resorts in Aruba host several Easter brunch buffets and offer special Easter menus. Make your reservation on time, because they're very popular!

On Easter Day and Easter Monday all the shops and offices are closed in Aruba, but the facilities in and around the hotels are open as usual. On Easter Sunday mass is celebrated in English at the St. Anna church in Noord at 11:00 am. At the malls in Palm Beach and Oranjestad special kid-friendly events are organised, such as egg hunting competitions.
