Amuse Restaurant – Efforts To Recover Underway

Amuse Sunset Restaurant announces efforts to recover after a devastating fire destroyed everything from their restaurant merely 2 weeks ago.

“This has been a terrible setback for my wife, Ivette, our 4-year-old triplet sons, and our staff after working ten years to establish Amuse”, said Patrick van der Donk, owner of Amuse Sunset Restaurant.

“We are so fortunate to have such strong support of the local community and our family and friends”, says Ivette Binavedes, wife of Patrick and business partner in Amuse. “But we are starting from nothing but working to rebuild again – not even a plate, pan, or knife” We are grateful that the kind owners of Aruba Racquet Club have offered space for us to regroup and plan for our return in a new location.

Amuse Restaurant Charity Dinner at Tierra del Sol

Amuse Sunset Restaurant has two campaigns established to help them re-establish their restaurant.

1. On March 11 at 7:00pm, Tierra del Sol is hosting the Amuse Charity Dinner and Silent Auction. Guests will be treated to a 4 course dinner skillfully prepared by the finest chefs on the island including Jim Rooseman from Tierra el Sol, Erwin Huskin from Screaming Eagle, Urvin Croes of White Modern Cuisine, Harold Castro of Costa Linda Resort, Douglas Sanchez of Sushi-Ya, and of course Patrick van der Donk of Amuse Sunset Restaurant. Tickets are $149 per person and available with payment by calling 592-0743. Beer and wine is included and a cash bar is available for other drinks. Visit Amuse's website for more information www.amusesunsetdiner.com

2. Friends of Amuse have also established a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will go directly towards the costs of replacing equipment and supplies for Amuse in their new location. Their goal is to raise $50,000 with the help of friends and the community.

This is the link to their campaign https://www.gofundme.com/amusesunsetrestaurantaruba

To show their appreciation for your GoFundMe donation, Patrick and Ivette would like to offer a gift certificate you can redeem at their new restaurant once opened:

  • Donate $50 and receive a certificate for two free drinks.
  • Donate $100 and receive a $25 certificate
  • Donate $200 and receive a $50 certificate
  • Donate $400 or more and receive a $100 certificate

Many hands working together can help lift Patrick and Ivette from this terrible setback. They are appreciative of your efforts to help them recover from this loss.
