A tasteful cocktail reception on the eve of their charity golf tournament.
In preparation for the island's most popular golf tournament, organized annually, for the past 16 years by Arion Wine Company in partnership with Wente Vineyards and Papiamento Restaurant, golf players and sponsors were invited for a lovely cocktail reception, on the eve of the event.
Winegrower Eric Wente personally welcomed invited guests to the tropical garden of the Papiamento Restaurant with bottomless glasses of his very own excellent Wente wines, and thanked them for their participation in the charity golf tournament the following day.
The party was expertly catered by Papiamento Restaurant whose owner, chef and proprietor Eduardo Ellis, is a major sponsor of the tournament.
Guests were treated to Wente Vineyards finest selection of wines, such as Morning Fog Chardonnay, and Sandstone Merlot, pairing well with the delectable food.
As party host, Govert van der Hout reiterated his company’s commitment to the fund-raising golf tournament and pledged the proceeds to FHMD, Fundacion pa Hende Muhe den Dificultad, the second year in a row.
The vice-chair and treasurer of the foundation were present to introduce their important initiative and talk about their community work. FHMD will put the funds collected into good use as the shelter is expanding to meet the demand for more accommodations for families in crisis.
Tierra Del Sol Director of Golf James Kiley, explained some of the rules of the following day's tournament.
Van de Hout praised his diligent team, for lending a hand to the service aspect of the event as well as the logistics.
