At the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino Team Members Were Rewarded with a Supermarket Sweep
This summer’s ‘Catch Me at My Best’ program, at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino culminated with a spirited and animated Supermarket Sweep, allowing resort Team Members who received most ‘catches,’ to speed shop at Super Food, at an after-hours event organized in conjunction with the popular store, for the very first time.
The internal Catch Me at My Best contest during the summer months was designed to recognize Hilton Hotels & Resorts Team Members for living and breathing the brand’s pillars and the HILTON Values, encapsulated in the HILTON acronym, namely Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Now.
The program allowed Team Members to ‘catch’ other team members or managers or vice versa at their best, doing something special or going the extra mile. Resort guests also participate in the program and caught Team Members or members of management when they were attentive to details or made a significant contribution.
At the conclusion of the program, six team members with most ‘catches,’ got 2 minutes to travel with their carts around the aisles of Super Food and shop. Yeda Andrade, from the kitchen, who got most ‘catches’ got 3 minutes. As part of the excitement, participants were also given the opportunity to obtain more shopping time, when answering a number of questions about the resort and about the brand correctly!
On the big day, the Catch Me at My Best contenders met at Super Food, and raced through the aisles in a unique Supermarket Sweep, which concluded the campaign, and awarded them carts brimming with groceries, each exceeding the value of Awg 400. The finalists, determined by drawing, hailing from the Heart of the House, were Team Members Bienvenida Lopez, Housekeeping, and Marlene Tenorio, Kitchen; and coming from the Front of the House, Team Members Norma Lacle, F&B and Anastacia Agana, Front Office.
Manager Jaap van Dam, Rooms, winner of most catches given, and winner Yeda Andrade, also got one out of three questions right, granting them extra 20 seconds to shop, which resulted in fuller shopping carts.
The event was packed with high energy and enthusiasm, participants were excited and all other Team Members present cheered them on. Besides the loot in their carts the six Team Members also received extra gifts for every product in their cart with the Blue Energy Logo.
The annual Catch Me at My Best program encourages team members to strive for excellence, as it provides equal win opportunities to staffers and members of management.
