Costa Linda Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Luigi Heredia, the GM of Costa Linda Beach Resort enjoyed the distinct honor to welcome guests at his resort, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary.
The celebration took place on the nicely lit and decorated pool deck, in the presence the Minister of Tourism & Health, Dangui Oduber; the CEO of Aruba Tourism Authority, Ronella Croes; The President of the Board of Costa Linda, Gale Measel and Board Members; Royal Resort Corporate Director of Operations Rodrigo Gamboa and Executives; Board Members of the Aruba Timeshare Association; Pioneer of Timeshare in Aruba and Developer of Costa Linda, Raymond Maduro; Managers, and many fellow-colleagues, the wonderful employees of Costa Linda Beach Resort, vacationing owners, guests and invited local dignitaries.
These 30 years can be defined as a kaleidoscope of happy memories, said Heredia, in his welcome address, and this wouldn’t have been possible without the resort’s dear owners and guests, who have always been an integral part of the property. Heredia thanked them for inspiring and supporting Costa Linda for three decades.
Last year through the pandemic, Costa Linda was one of two resorts that never closed. While the whole island came to a complete standstill Costa Linda had guests and in consideration of its staffers, kept all its employees, providing full salaries and job security, in full support of members who made many special additional contributions.
Heredia also thanked the board for good guidance that continues to shape the success of the resort. “I am also lucky to have such a fantastic team,” he remarked, and they deserve a big round of applause for all the hard work and unconditional dedication.
The evening’s ceremony honored 10 of the resort’s employees that have been with the resort from the start, in total 27 staffers, each with more than 25 at the property.
History reveals that the first unit was sold at Costa Linda Beach Resort pre-construction on December 17th, 1990. First Guest was welcomed on November 1st, 1991, and concluded with a grand opening party, on May 16th, 1992.
Many owners who bought at that time were dreamers, but they never regretted their decision to invest in Aruba, and they keep coming back to their home away from home, at the edge of an untouched, much-loved beach, measuring over 700 feet.
The resort, on Punta Brabo, the brave point, at the beginning of famed Eagle Beach, occupies approximately 6.5 acres of great ocean views which are enjoyed by guests and members from the terraces and balconies of units.
General Manager Luigi Heredia, has been at the helm for 13 years as Royal Resorts Caribbean representative here, and the resort is owned and governed by the Costa Linda Beach Resort Cooperative Association which is made up of all its timeshare owners, managing the five story pyramid-shaped building with its 155 units -- 139 two bedrooms, 16 three bedroom suites and 5 luxury Frangipani suites. The resort has been a great success from the start resulting in multiple TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence, and countless Interval and RCI commemorative plaques.
The 30th anniversary party program included a welcome address by guest speaker Minister Dangui Oduber, Tourism and Public Health, some festive notes from Rodrigo Gamboa, Corporate Director of Operations Royal Resorts, and remarks and acknowledgements by Gale Measel, President of the Board, who also officiated over the Employee Recognitions, presenting Appreciation Plaques for 30 years of service to 10 career employees: Rolando Valdez, Miriam Castillejo, Priscilla Groeneveldt, Margarita Giel, Berta Lara, Maria de Jesus Bermudez, Lucy Suarez, Lucila Piedrahita, Marlyn Maduro, Sandra Inesia
Five additional staffers were recognized for 25 years of service: Ginette Merveille, Marcolina Wernet, Francisca Tromp, Luzdary Calderon & Miriam Rodriquez
Special mentions were made of the staff members who have been with the resort for more than 25 years: Beatrix Angela, 29 years; Aivena Cornelis, 29 years; Felicitas Layos, 29 years; Maria Thiel, 28 years; Fernando Ceron, 28 years; Alejandrina Cathlin, 27 years; Esperanza Desbarida, 27 years; Fritz Emanuel, 27 years; and Swienda Hengeveld 27 years.
Invited guests enjoyed bottomless cocktails, butler passed hors d’oeuvres and music, under the tropical October night.
