ECODMS of Aruba prides itself in being one step ahead and innovative when finding creative ways to keep in touch with clients and partners.
In the spirit of embracing the “new normal” and keeping everyone updated on everything happening within the Destination, ECODMS introduced its virtual “Happy News” segments.
ECODMS worked with local partner, Elite Productions to produce an informative one-hour virtual meeting for their clients and partners, of which the objective was to maintain an open communication with the MICE market and meeting planners. During the hour long meeting, the spokespersons from ECODMS broadcasting live at the studio gave a detailed overview on the protocols set in place on the island due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they also gave information on the Level Up – No Touch Action Protocol that ECODMS developed for their clients, to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for their MICE groups.
The first of the installment, Happy News 1, was co-hosted by eGroup communications and Marvellous Mark Speaks, along with Gary Boardman from JustCallGary.com’s interactive bingo-trivia game. During this segment, ECODMS produced the game providing information about the history and culture of Aruba in a fun way, with our ECODMS team members as the “news anchors”, giving additional detailed updates on the status of our destination, hotel opening dates as well as updates of our own.
Due to the immense success of Happy News 1, ECODMS immediately began developing Happy News 2. What differentiated Happy News 2, was the amount of production required to create a flawless virtual meeting experience. ECODMS conducted one-on-one interviews with local hotel partners, vendors, the Aruba Airport and ATA to receive an overview of the protocols, procedures, and changes that have been implemented since Aruba opened its borders.
During the one-hour virtual meeting, ECODMS was presenting the news live from the Elite studio and was live on location at their exclusive venue “Cas di Wichi”. The viewers were able to see the different interviews with the local partners and vendors, get live information on the destination, and get a glimpse of the experiences and décor available at Cas di Wichi.
Towards the end of Happy News 2, viewers were provided with an additional experience of a live panel at Cas di Wichi consisting of local partners such as our resorts and the Aruba Convention Bureau, answering the viewers questions submitted prior to and during the virtual meeting.
The Happy News segments have been a huge success, as ECODMS has received numerous positive feedbacks as well as requests for additional Happy News segments. By doing these virtual meetings, ECODMS wants to showcase the possibility of doing virtual meetings and incentives, in a fun, creative, and unique way. Make sure to stay tuned for ECODMS’ Happy News 3 coming soon!
