Employees of De Palm Tours recently participated in the Mi Compromiso Course.
For the past three years De Palm Tours staff members working as drivers and guides participated in the Aruba Certification Program “Mi Compromiso”. Over 90% of all staff are currently certified. The goal of the Mi Compromiso program is to further develop broader, accurate and consistent knowledge about Aruba that tour guides can share with visitors to further stimulate appreciation for our island. There is also a Service Excellence session included in the training which focuses on norms and values that our people provide in our tourism industry. During the two day course the participants were introduced to the concept of “storytelling”, followed by explaining the power of “storytelling”. Topics like Know your guests (Who is you target market?), discover our story (How to create a unique story, what sets you apart from other businesses?), develop your story (Research your destination) and delivery of the story.
