What if we told you the best part of your Aruba vacation just might not be on one of our world-class beaches?
It's tucked away in the colorful streets of San Nicolas, where every conversation reveals another story, every corner shares a piece of history, and every warm smile reminds you that the true heart of Aruba is its people.
That's exactly why Kukoo Kunuku created Taste of San Nicolas: to introduce visitors to a side of Aruba many never discover.
For many visitors, San Nicolas is simply the gateway to Baby Beach. Yet this vibrant community has become Aruba's creative heart, the birthplace of Carnival, where spectacular murals, family-owned businesses, and passionate artists have transformed the town into one of the island's most rewarding places to explore.
Let's wander together through these welcoming streets, meet the people who proudly call San Nicolas home, hear the stories behind the art and architecture, and discover a side of Aruba that quietly stays with you.
The evening brings us to a beautiful century-old family home, where the gates open just for us. Under a canopy of bougainvillea, we'll gather around the table to enjoy authentic cuisine, warm conversation, and the kind of hospitality that makes us so proud to share our island with you. Beautiful steel drum grills, lovingly painted with Aruba's native flowers by Joa Beke, one of my favorite local artists, fill the garden with irresistible aromas as the evening unfolds.
It's an evening filled with laughter, stories, and new friendships, the kind of experience that stays with you long after your vacation ends.
Come and discover the Aruba that so many visitors never knew was waiting for them.
Some secrets are simply too wonderful to keep.
