La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino Celebrates First Quarter Achievements
Covid-19 and the temporary resort shutdown, propelled the department of Human Resources to move the quarterly achievement celebration to Zoom.
The special virtual edition of the Associate of the Month, Supervisor of the Quarter, Manager of the Quarter, and Team of the Quarter celebration was as energetic and delightful as ever, and served to reinforce camaraderie and solidarity, in trying times.
The nicely orchestrated event, acknowledging top performances during the first four months of 2020 was emceed by members of the department of Human Resources, who welcomed the smiling faces of their colleagues to the on-line gathering, elaborating on the Zoom protocol and engagement rules.
Then the ceremony unfolded as planned, announcing the nominees for January’s Associate of the Month award: Aristobulo “Aristi” Montoya, Pool & Beach; Bazile Baptisitin, Maintenance; Virginia de Lange, Housekeeping and winner Rowald Vazquez, Front Office/Bell Services. Each nominee was lauded by his department head and praised for worthy efforts made on the job.
The nominees for February’s Associate of the Month award were Diana Pichay, Front Office; Maritza Nunez Santana, Housekeeping; Waizir Mohammed, Pool & Beach and winner Robert David Maduro, MIS.
The nominees for March’s Associate of the Month award were Yves Andre, Maintenance; Ursulito “Linda” Mitchell, CDS; Winner Gegorio Milton, Loss Prevention and Lyrza Lansiquot, Activities.
General Manager Joe Najjar then addressed the forum, reminding his associates to count their blessings for having a secure position at La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino, one of Aruba’s financially most-solid timeshare resorts. Najjar expressed his wish to shortly see the resort open with an increased awareness of hygiene and cleanliness, helping its long-time members make beautiful vacation memories, on the island.
The celebration then continued with the nominees for Supervisor of the Quarter award which included Douglas Morillo, Housekeeping; Manuel Ramos, Maintenance; and winner Nixon Castillo, Activities.
The short recess between awards served as an opportunity for Food & Beverage director Pierre Kock to speak to the associates about his department’s new protocols and products.
Two teams were simultaneously nominated to the Team of the Quarter award, namely the winning Loss Prevention Team and the Housekeeper Team who both worked very hard to secure and sanitize the property over the past months.
The nominees for Manager of the Quarter included Delano Frank Sabajo, Maintenance and winner Maureen Kelly, Accounting;
All nominees and winners received thunderous applause and compliments, and were informed by Assistant General Manager Jessica Franken that they would receive their certificate and letters in the email while winners will receive their plaques as special delivery.
The festive occasion concluded with a fun question and answer session with prizes and a happy hour with members of the Executive Committee.
