La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino Volunteers at Colegio Hilario Angela
Hilario Angela College in San Nicolas, an elementary school in the local public school system received a recent refresh from La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino when dozens of resort associates and their family members put in a full day’s work at the school, on August 2nd and 9th 2016, pressure washing the ceilings to remove dust, painting the gym, the picnic tables, the flag poles, the entrance gate and the planters. The planters were cleaned of debris and planted with fruit trees. The volunteers also ran some necessary data cabling.
Through this yearly effort La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino is hoping that the kids and their teachers will feel more excited about their return to school and that the students will be more eager to start a new academic year.
One of the school’s teachers, Patricia Senchi, originally went to the La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino for some help with a class project.
When asked about the school’s situation she shared about the school’s needs in the area of repair and maintenance. La Cabana Beach Resort & casino listened and following a close evaluation decided that indeed, a face lift is required, and feasible.
In collaboration with many local companies, associates descended on the school armed with paint, brushes and brooms, taking all maintenance work over. That was in the year 2010, and they are still devoted to that project. Last year in honor of the resort’s 25th anniversary celebration, several major projects were completed leaving the school updated, upgraded, fresh and neat.
The regular efforts made by La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino is also joined y school teachers and some parents from the neighborhood, who roll up their sleeves for a good cause.
