Between 2016 and 2022, Fundashon Stimami Sterilisami subsidized 30,000 sterilizations of cats and dogs with its national spay and neuter program.
Aruba has a massive stray animal overpopulation problem at just 20 miles long and six miles wide. With the aim to mitigate the suffering of these abandoned pets, Stimami Sterilisami continues to tackle the root cause through affordable and accessible sterilizations, which is proven to be the most effective and compassionate way to curb the overpopulation in Aruba.
Fundashon Stimami Sterilisami thanks Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba Tourism Authority, the Tourism Product Enhancement Fund, One Love Foundation, Aruba Bank, Setar N.V., Ewald Biemans, guests of Bucuti & Tara, and local residents, for their generous contributions and continuing support. A special thank you also goes out to the veterinarians of the Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH), who provided Fundashon Stimami Sterilisami with a special discount. Now, with the subsidy offered by Stimami Sterilisami and the discount provided by VSH, the fees for sterilization are between 50% to 66% less than the fees that the general public and foundations paid in 2021.

Stimami Sterilisami is currently assisting VSH with the procurement of much-needed medical supplies. At the same time, the vet clinic is also working on expanding its workforce to be able to handle more daily operations.
“Although 30,000 sterilizations is an incredible achievement, we still see so many abandoned dogs and cats each day. That is why we will do everything we can to sterilize as many pets as possible, while we also encourage pet owners to be responsible and local law enforcement to take action,” Ewald Biemans, President of Stimami Sterilisami, explains. “We are incredibly grateful to every institution and person who has contributed to our cause. We encourage everyone to register via our website and sterilize their pet as soon as possible.”
Fundashon Stimami Sterilisami is a non-profit organization that uses 100% of each donation received to cover the costs of sterilization for the general public and volunteer organizations.
