To help fulfill this necessity, the Aruba Tourism Authority, is partnering up with Qredits Aruba to develop and roll out a completely new program: The Aruba Signature Experiences. This program is targeted to highlight and promote new experiences in the romance, wellness, and (low-impact) adventure niches.

The Aruba Signature Experiences seeks to connect with travelers who are pursuing not only destinations but specific experiences that deliver unforgettable experiences closely aligned with their values. Through this program, we want to push up-and-coming & existing entrepreneurs to achieve the attitude towards high value/ low impact concepts and making these concepts become a reality in 2022 as the first Aruba Signature Experiences pioneers. The guidance received during and after the program, matched with the resources provided to help polish the product and/ service is certainly new to Aruba. What is the Aruba Signature Experiences (ASE) program?
The Aruba Signature Experiences program is a complete guided process for up and coming entrepreneurs or existing entrepreneurs looking to enter the industry with a new and innovative idea. The program is intended for enthusiasts looking to venture into the following niches: romance, wellness, and/or adventure (low impact) to create unique and curated experiences that speak to our ever-changing visitors that are looking for immersive moments that tap into their passions and values. Throughout this whole program, we will provide assistance, guidance, and resources curated by experts and professionals who will help you introduce a well-polished product or service to the market.

The Aruba Signature Experiences program consists of three easy steps.

Step 1: Apply for the Small Business Academy at www.aruba.com/registra (click on the register button on top). Once you have completed the Small Business Academy your business plan will contain all the necessary information needed to proceed.
Step 2: With your business plan, visit www.qredits.com to apply and upload your Qredits Aruba business plan.
Step 3: If your business plan meets the program’s criteria and you’ve secured funding from Qredits Aruba, you will be presented to the Aruba Tourism Authority and possibly be selected as one of the five Aruba Signature Experiences for 2022.
What is the objective of the Aruba Signature Experiences program?
The Aruba Signature Experiences program is created to foster unique and exclusive ventures among upcoming or existing entrepreneurs that are new to Aruba. Both the Aruba Tourism Authority and Qredits Aruba want to help catalyze the collective mindset towards new ideas and concepts that are of high value and low impact, AND making them a reality for our visitors. By providing a platform that guides an entrepreneur through the different stages, that may seem daunting at first, and make resources available that put the cherry on top, we expect to lower the threshold to start a new business while increasing their confidence to take the step now.
How long does it take before the five Aruba Signature Experiences are selected?
Your first action starts right now, click on the above button to register for the Aruba Signature Experiences program. The first step is easy, register for the Small Business Academy (EPI) course that starts on the 12th of October. Keep this date in mind as it is extremely important. Once you have started the course it will take 10 weeks to complete. During the course, you will have essentially created your business plan. The second step is to visit www.qredits.com to apply and upload your Qredits Aruba business plan. Qredits Aruba’s advisors will guide you through their process and make sure you are on the right track. They will check if you meet all of their criteria and the criteria of the Aruba Signature Experiences program. This process will take about 5 weeks. The third step and final step, once your business plan has been approved and you have secured funding, your company will be presented to the ATA for the Aruba Signature Experiences program. Once chosen, we will help you put the final touches on your product and/ or service, by providing you with complimentary access to experts and professionals such as designers, content writers, social media advisors, videographers, photographers, and a niche consultant. With these resources, we can find the perfect tone of voice, create images and create a logo/ brand that fits with the concept and the feeling you want to exude. Tying all the elements together perfectly, so that your brand meets the same level of quality you want to bring to your future clients.

What is the duration of the Small Business Academy course, and what does it cost?
The course will start on October 12th. All classes will take place on a Tuesday and Thursday, every week, from 18:00-20:30 at EPI school. The course is valued at Awg 500,00 per participant.
If I am not able to register and follow the Small Business Academy course starting on October 12th, what happens next?
The Aruba Signature Experiences program will be launched this year with the courses starting on the 12th of October, should you not be able to register and take part in the course, you can wait for the second course which will start in the third quarter of 2022. You can then participate in the Aruba Signature Experiences program for 2023. It is our intention to have this program in place for a three-year period.
Why did ATA collaborate with Qredits for the Aruba Signature Experiences program?
One of the objectives of the Aruba Signature Experiences program is to meet the ever-changing needs of our visitors who have grown to have high expectations of our destination and uphold our destination's image. Additionally, the Aruba Signature Experiences will focus on romance, wellness, and low-impact adventure niches that have a high value and are more sustainable for our destination. This will ultimately lead to increased spending and a smaller footprint. What criteria do you need to meet in order to be part of the Aruba Signature Experiences program?
Aside from the criteria set by Qredits Aruba for the financial part, there are also criteria that leverage the Signature Experience part of the program. For you to be able to join the Aruba Signature Experiences program, your idea and/ or concept has to have a certain level of uniqueness and has to be experiential. There isn’t an exact measuring system for these components, however, it will be chosen based on its novelty and its immersive characteristics. Another important aspect is that your idea and/ or concept should be aligned with the ROPV (spatial planning regulations) which has been instituted since September 1st, 2021.
Ultimately the idea and/ or concept should be geared towards a high-value and low-impact model. Focusing on a higher price point due to its quality and a low impact on the environment.
The business has to start with its operation within 6 months of securing funding.
Your product has to be available/ bookable for 48 weeks a year. The product and/ or services need to take place in Aruba. Lastly, the main target audience is visitors. We do not discriminate against our locals, by any means but considering the resources come from a tourism-driven organization these should be reinvested in the tourism industry as well.
What does “low impact adventure” mean?
The purpose of this program aligns with the need to lower the impact of tourism recreation on our environment so it is protected for generations to come. The goal is to engage and immerse yourself in our nature as much as possible without being destructive. As mentioned above, one of the criteria for this program is to be aligned with the regulations as set in the spatial planning document (ROPV). We cannot endorse a company that goes against our newly instituted laws.
What happens if I miss the deadline to register for the Small Business Academy?
If you miss the deadline and are in need of assistance with the creation of your business plan, you will, unfortunately, have to wait for the next cycle, which will start in the third quarter of 2022.
