We are booked for the direct flight on 9/4, #679. Not even 1/2 full. I fear that AA may cancel flight. Means only one flt to Aruba and that would be from Miami at 8:30 PM. So I guess they get the Boston & NY people to Miami and will not arrive in Aruba till 11:20------what a lousy way to spend the day. Can any one comment on what they may think will happen.

With the date so close, you may be OK, but I've seen changes on shorter notice.

Good luck....hope it is "half full", not "half empty".

Just make sure you keep checking your reservations so if they change something you will be aware....have been known to change/cancel reservations and not inform the ticket holders....

We also are flying on September 4th - Boston to Miami and then onto Aruba - Our flight from MIA to AUA is at 10:40 am and arrives in Aruba at 1:25 - Flight 1047.

I am also traveling AA in September. I leave September 23 @ 6:40am from NYC-MIA and then connect MIA -Aruba, arriving in Aruba @ 1:25pm (CAN'T WAIITTT! :D). After reading this thread I called AA and asked them of the possibility of cancelling flights due to lack of passengers (my flight MIA-Aruba is also pretty empty!). I was told and even promised that AA does not have that policy and they do not cancel flights due to "empty" planes. I travel AA almost every year to Central America and have had my itinerary changed a few times by maybe an hour or 1/2 hour delay from my original departure schedule. But I can honestly say I have never experienced a flight cancellation! I hope this helps, I am trying to stay possitive as well and I am holding on to the AA representative's promise! Good luck!
