View Full Version : Turtle Hatching

Two or three years ago we were fortunate to watch a turtle's nest hatch on on our last night in Aruba. It was a great way to end the saddest day of our trip (we never want to go home).
There was a very knowledgeable lady there who answered all the many questions everyone had.

Nice video! How did you know where to find a turtle hatch site? Is there a local guide for that sort of adventure? We would love to see that when we come back.

crimms...........you'll find them on the beach. The locals will put up barriers around the nest so that no one will walk through it. They have a little plaque on the barriers explaining what they are for. We were there last July and saw one on Palm beach. Unfortunately, they didn't hatch while we were there. I'm hoping when we go back this July we'll catch a nest hatching.

We always go that last week of May. We stay at La Cabana and it was right there on Eagle Beach about two years ago.
Right place right time. It was too cool.

Love Aruba

Was just talking to a friend of mine from the island on skype day before yesterday and he said they had a turtle come up on the beach by divi/tam/jimmys bar and lay some eggs...said they have it sectioned off so nothing happens to it....we are going next week but I guess that isnt long enough and will not get the chance to see them hatch......so sad....
