There is a pelican that sits on a post
He has been there for about two hundred years or so
Waiting for a big fishy to come along
On Aruba, they do - you know
So he waits.

There is a broken shell on the shore
It waits to bee crushed by children's feet
Only in this way it can start on the journey to becoming Aruba sand
There are broken shells and sand you know.
So the shell waits.

There is a man who watches sunsets
This has been going on for quite a few years
The sunsets that is.
Yet he figured that if the world is round
It is you know
That someday just as it touches the sea, the sun will rise.
Especially on his Aruba home
So he stares.

It matters not what we believe in or who we are.
A two hundred year old Pelican
An ageless shell
Perhaps an old soul waiting for an eventuality
Just believe.

Isn't that wonderful
To believe, I mean.

Be well
Charles

This is one of my favorites (except the one your wrote for me of course);) Was just thinking of you Charles, every time I walk over to Dunkin I remember the day hubby Ray and I met and sat with you for a nice visit. Missed your writing, hope more to come! I plan on printing this one out as I loved it so much.
