A bit more detail and clarification re: testing and arrival.

We were all tested in Secaucus, NJ. We had the rapid molecular nasal swab tests. We received the results on paper in hand before we left the facility. Scanned them & uploaded those scans with the ED card submission. I printed a copy of the green check mark "Qualified to Board" page and kept those with test result printouts in my bag, readily available.

Upon arrival at AUA there was a very long line because people where keeping space between families like they should (except for the one chick behind me who literally tapped my butt a few times while chatting with her friends. I gave her a look that she didn't seem to understand, so I then put my carry on behind me and left it there as I moved up in line. GET A CLUE WOMAN!!

Came down the escalator, went thru the regular passport stamping (so happy to see that stamp!!!) By the time we got to the luggage carousel ours had already been pulled off and was on the side. United bags on one side and another airline on the other side. Grabbed bags, went to Duty Free then on to the next customs scan. Very strict about the one bottle per person. My brother bought 2, but thankfully he & my husband were standing together so they were asked if they were together and each bought one bottle. They said yes and all was ok.

Get thru there then on to a medical area with employees dressed like astronauts! Exciting! (PPE of course) They had a list of "all" the green check marks. NON of my 5 immediate people were on that list (me, hubs, 2 sons, 1 Goddaughter) My parents & cousins were all on the list (8 of them). No reason to panic, even though I panicked. Pulled out my paper copies, they looked very carefully at the test results and matched the names on the green check mark pages and it was fine. We went thru to the next section where our temperature was taken and we were asked a few questions about being in contact with anyone who was ill and how we are feeling. Then, finally, the gentleman said "Welcome to Aruba" OMG - we are really here. All that work and worry about not being able to get here and we are about to walk through those doors and feel that beautiful warm breeze!

Please, PLEASE stay calm, have all your ducks in a row and understand that the beautiful people of Aruba are doing what they can to protect everyone - themselves, their home, their treasured visitors and their economy. They love us, they want to see us all. Team members on property here at LaCabana were actually welcoming us with tears. So happy to see the resort come back to life.

For the first time ever we experienced people calling out to us to rent vehicles from them instead of where we rented from. They claimed to be able to beat any deal. I asked a price for a minivan, and said never mind. The guy said wait, what are you paying at Hertz. I replied that I don't play haggle games and that was the end of it. I have never rented on property at the airport before so this may be normal practice.

If you don't mind, can you please state the name of the facility in Secaucus with address? My husband and I are scheduled to go to Aruba October 10 and love the idea of having the results in hand. One stress would be relieved. I appreciate you taking the time and I wish you and your family a fabulous vacation. Also, was there a cost for the test (just curiosity since we will definitely take regardless LOL).

Hi - I really don't know if there was a cost. I never even thought about it. They asked for our insurance information and I provided it. Money was not exchanged, no invoice (yet). I really don't know!

The place is Riverside Medical Group. Email them at ccc @ riversidemedgroup.com (with no spaces) tell them what you need and a day and time you would like to schedule and they will respond with what is needed. They are right off of Rt 3/Meadowlands Pkwy - I think it was on 10th Street.

Jacki - thank you for confirming Aruba accepts molecular test from Riverside. I live in Lodi and was going to go there. However, I read a horror story on this forum that a family of 9 took the molecular test somewhere and Aruba did not accept. Also the director of tourism in Secaucus said the same - only PCR. Happy they will accept that test since it’s stated on Aruba.com. We are scheduled to go on September 12th but 99% we will cancel due to the recent daily spikes in cases. My husband and I are young for our age but are in our 60’s and it’s too risky. We really need this vacation living in the epicenter but I just don’t think this is the right timing for us. We will see What happens in the next 2 weeks but meanwhile you have an amazing time and keep us posted!

You have to do what is right for you. Everyone here on the island, resort workers, taxi drivers, casino employees, water sports workers - everyone is taking this very seriously. They are disinfecting their hands and everyone else's. You can not use a pen to sign your waiver and hand it to the next person, it must be sprayed first. Every local person has a mask on that they wear from morning till night. Not just till their shift is over, but until they are off property.

I made our appt for the end of Sept. from NY so will have to pay out of pocket but at this point who cares. they were very helpful.
Question, did you have the test done inside your vehicle? Thats what we are told will be done.

Update - I went to Riverside Medical today for a test to be able to return to the office. I was informed that they are running out of rapid molecular tests and are only using them for people waiting to have surgery or who are experiencing symptoms. They are hoping to have more rapid tests in next week.

Good to know, we are scheduled for late Sept so hopefully will be ok. if not the CVS drive thru and results in maybe 2 days. If that fails then its testing in Aruba,
not going to cancel another trip if I can avoid it.
