Azar Open Fire Cuisine - January 2023

After such a spectacular meal at "Lima Bistro", we decided to head out to eat at their newest offering, Azar.

    https://azarfiregrill.com

It's located in Palm Beach (in the old Legends location).

First off, I love that, at both Lima and Azar, there's a security guard directing arrivals to parking spots (and that they HAVE parking). Normally, we take a taxi but Azar was so close to our house that I sucked it up, limited cocktails and schlepped us over to the restaurant.

There's been a lot of chatter on the forum about this location and whether they'll be able to make a go of it - I somewhat agree but, if they build the word-of-mouth that Lima Bistro is getting, they'll be off and running.

Beautiful decor - darker tones than Lima but a huge outdoor space and also comparable space to dine inside. Open kitchen to see all the action. All the energetic service staff wore Panama hats - some had them on backwards but I think this might have been a "fashion choice" but... who knows with The Kids?!? The music was perfect volume and content-wise (The Spouse is deaf in one ear so ambiance plays a big role in any given dining adventure... that's also why we hate live music during dinner... the vocal "stylings" can be a bit much at some locations).

Service was quick, informative and efficient. The food was wonderful - those two factors bode well for Azar's future. It's definitely worth the two block jaunt from the PB hotels... I really hope people will make the effort.

Chef/Owner Teddy dropped by to say hi as he recognized us from the Lima visit. He said business is booming at both restaurants. Excellent!

It was just the two of us so limited food porn - take note of the latte-art-esque hearts in my Sandia Sour (which was delicious).

I started with tuna tataki, for the main: beef tenderloin and dessert was churros with caramel and chocolate sauce. All were delicious and beautifully presented.

The Spouse went for coquettes, main of short ribs (what else) and the bacon trifle for dessert. I won't say he plate-licked but it was close.

We also ordered sides of truffle fries with Parmesan and white asparagus. I could've just eaten a disturbing amount of both those plates alone.

    Here's the food porn:

It's worth the effort! And definitely a better option than that other wood fired grill with the questionable host who seems intent on customers doing it HIS way. Grrrr.

Thanks for the real time review. That food porn is exactly what I needed this morning.

I want to grow my own food, but I

    Narrative and photos = exceptional.
I do hope that folks make the effort.
If folks are willing to walk to Wacky Wahoo, this is an easier and bit closer to Palm beach hotels.
THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind? sidtm

You do write wonderful reviews! Love that they had white asparagus. It’s my favorite! Your photos alone are enough to convince me to try a place. My sister-in-law is headed to Aruba next week. I’ve already given her a recommendation for Lima Bistro based on your earlier review. I’ll be adding Azar to her list.

Amazing food porn. Looks delicious. Ambiance looks great too. How was the outdoor space? Was it nicely decorated? We tend to love eating outdoors when in Aruba. Love your food reviews. I can tell you are a foodie!

Sizable while still being intimate. The tables were nicely spread out and it had a cozy vibe. It also appeared to be covered - which is nice given the amount of rain and its erratic appearance.

Thanks for the great review....especially good to know there is parking! In your review of Lima you did not mention "the Bread". I do not eat bread at restaurants as a rule ....at Lima we get two orders....my grandmother may be the bread maker there! lol

Ah, right... the bread at Lima - the couple we were with nearly got into a fist fight because she took his bread without asking. Prison rules.
