    Menus

Restaurants really need to make certain that their menus are in "tip top condition"

    Appearances are everything !

Recently a forum member made a comment about a place where the menus were not up to par.

Comments.......positive? negative? never notice or does not matter?

A crummy menu is generally a sign of a crummy place.....!

If the menus are dirty, it makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. If they are well worn, and the place is busy, clean and service is good, then maybe they just haven't had the time to replace the menus or don't bother until they are making price and menu changes. I'll take a worn menu over a new one with higher prices. Just don't give me a dirty or wet menu.

First off, never think about the kitchen or you won't eat out again. Menus are high use items in the restaurant and they get a little ratty at times, but they should always be wiped off before being handed to the next customer. It's not something I think about much, too many other first world problems I guess

Normally, I wouldn’t give it much thought BUT we were handed a paper menu with grease marks and obvious spill marks. It did kind of turn me off. We stayed and both food and service were great. I would probably go back BUT I do think it will turn people away and there’s really no excuse.

The new Amuse BBQ which I saw in another post now has a new name. Three Brothers, I think is the new name. I’m actually not usually that picky. It was one of those paper menus that some places use as placemats and then throw away. Their bbq was seriously good though.

I remember the menus at Papiamento last summer.... not professionally done, but clean. Copier sheets in document protectors bound together. Not very professional.... but the food and service were wonderful.... the setting was dated but still quite nice.
