    Restaurants you miss?

We’re planning for our August Vegas strip and noticing all the restaurant changes at the Venetian. It got me to thinking about restaurants in Aruba that are no longer and how much we miss them.

Rhumba Wine Bar Downtown had the best fried grouper sandwiches and it was a nice spot to hang out when you wanted out of the heat

Amadeus which I loved for the quirky atmosphere. Empty picture frames on the wall. Their Lost Symphony liquor for an after dinner cordial was special and I have never since found a Dutch Apple pie as good.

Hollywood Smokehouse which I still have hopes of reappearing. Their BBQ and especially the pulled pork was delicious. I didn’t even mind when we had a server who was obviously inebriated and a coworker had to come bail him out!!

So, any places you think fondly of, or even dishes that you miss?

Chef's table was really nice..... but the noteworthy one for me as the Rio Steakhouse.... I was so disappointed that they closed before I even got to try it! Cooks was another one that I stalked.... but never got to! Amazonia..... was over shadowed by Texas de Brazil..... and ultimately went under.

I remember Andrea used to post about Cooks a lot. We never got to try it. Queens Restaurant was one that was on our list that we never made it to either. Don’t recall hearing of Villa Germania.

There are so many good restaurants in Aruba and sometimes even the good ones don’t make it.

Not sure how I forgot Legends!! We enjoyed it to watch a game.

Cooks was wonderful and then the owner lost a great chef and things spiraled downwards.
On Mother’s Day maybe 10 yrs ago, a child at the next table vomited all over the place including my feet.
    I almost died.
We still keep in touch with the owner and he is a real gentleman.

In no particular order we miss:
    The original Old Conucu House
The Promenade ( in San Nic)
    Eleanoras Crazy Grill
    Rio
    Tabasko
    The Deli at Alhambra
    Boonoonos

I really miss Turtle Cove. Anybody remember that place? It was over the bus station downtown. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Wasn't five star or anything like that, but we really enjoyed it.

I don't think so. There was a place up there after Turtle Cove that was like a sports bar. There were pool tables and a bunch of big screens.
