    What don't they have?

Last week we were discussing all the great dining options on the island-so many to choose from, yet there are two things they don't have: a NY style deli and a good sub shop(please don't say they have a Subway).

Is there anything you can think of that they are missing on the island?

We find it difficult to enjoy delicious crusty Italian Bread. None in the stores and not even at restaurants. I LOVE crusty Italian Bread.

Wasn't there a kind of deli in the shops down towards where the old flea market was? I'd really like to find a Vietnamese restaurant.

Mimma...the owner of Terrazana Italiana restaurant at the Paradise Beach Villa's rooftop.............bakes excellent Italian bread.
Also there is a wonderful Italian bakery - Noord Pastry (formerly LaDelizia) noordpastryaruba@gmail.com wonderfully baked bread with nice crust!

Ramon is the new owner...be bought the business from Bruno and Bruno is still living in the house on the property.
If you are also into square thick crust pizza, this place has it!
My husband loves their apple turnovers, I love the breads and the chocolate chip cookies.
Their FB is Noord Pastry Aruba

Okay, announcing in advance I'm about to veer a bit off topic...but speaking of pizza (hey, it's about food in another culture!), did any of you catch the first episode of Stanley Tucci's Italy on CNN last night? It was great and it was dominated by pizza! It looks to be a great series; he visited several different regions of the country. It will make you really hungry!!

We will definitely try Noord Pastry. Thanks. Mimma's restaurant is fabulous and we eat there all the time (3x in October alone). Not happening on the bread. LOL Love her and the place but not the bread. But again, will try the pastry shop.
