    Newbie here!

Hi everyone! My name is Bryan and I am new to the forum. I live in Iowa with my wife and 5 (yes 5) kids. My wife and I have decided to take a 10th anniversary trip to Aruba. We will probably be going in June of next year. Here is the thing, I do not know much about the island at all. My goal here is to interact with all of you and learn as much as possible about the beautiful island of Aruba. I really enjoy learning about the cultures and everything that’s involved about visiting a new place. We will be wanting an all inclusive resort. Beach and pool will be important. We would also like to visit local shops to see what they all have.

cant wait to get involved in the forum and soak up all your knowledge!

    Bryan

Welcome to the forum. For all inclusive you might like to take a look at Divi or it’s sister property Tamarijn. Both are on beautiful Druif Beach and are kid friendly

    hey there Bryan!
    welcome to the forum.

if you go onto aruba.com's main page www.aruba.com
you will find all sorts of cultural info.
spend some time there searching around.

an all inclusive for your first visit with the bride and 5 children is probably a good option
a great option would be renting a 3 bedroom timeshare at costa Linda or at marriott surf club.
    how about a condo rental?

are the kids traveling with you?
do lots of reading and please do not be afraid to ask ANYTHING.
most everyone here is kind and respectful.
you will get great advice and assistance.

We love newbies! Welcome to the forum, Bryan!
I got the feeling from your post that it will just be you and the Mrs. Is that right or are the shorter family members coming along?

Hi Bryan. Welcome. You will just love the island as we all do. We stay at Barcelo on Palm Beach which is an all inclusive. Believe it or not though, there are sooooo many great restaurants on this island that we still go out for dinner at least half of the nights we are there. Prices for dinners are pretty usual but I guess that depends on the area of the US. As compared to NJ or NY, it is on par with pricing. Staying on Palm Beach makes it very easy if you are not renting a car while on vacation. Taxi fares are regulated and not too expensive. There are many restaurants and even casinos in the Palm Beach area (and walkable). We always have a car so we venture out every night. Any questions, please feel free to reach out. We have all gone to Aruba many many times (we have been about 40 times). Enjoy your planning.

In that case, you may want to explore options besides an all inclusive. My suggestion is to decide first what area you prefer. Most commonly that will be Palm Beach (high rise) or Eagle Beach (low rise).
