Day 6- 9/15/22
Yesterday was a super duper lazy day!
Got up and had a large breakfast at Pure beach. I had a mimosa and just enjoyed the view. It was windy but nice and cool. Afterwards I went to room and went to do laundry. I packed 75% and I'm glad because I would hate to on my last day. I never made it out to the pool. I sat on balcony enjoying view and reading on my kindle, drank a ballashi. No lunch as I was full from big breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, 2 mini pancakes, 1 toast and coffee. It's strange at Pure Beach that coffee is not included with Breakfast option so it's a la cart and sometimes they don't even offer refills. I guess I'm spoiled because at La cabana, they just leave a coffee pot on each table.
Dinner was at The West Deck for sunset. I had these cod fish croquet with a pink dipping sauce. Entre was a grouper fish platter that came with white rice, fried sweet banana, a little Mac salad and their bread pan bati. Nice portion of lightly breaded grouper and very tasty. Platter was only $21.00. For dessert I had tres leche cake which was wonderful with a cappuccino. I actually drank a bottle of red wine by myself. It was only $37 a bottle. For 2 people it makes sense to get the bottle as 2 drinks each will run you $32. It was a good cabernet sauvignon. I just relaxed, drank and enjoyed the view. Funny thing with the cab. I was charged $17 to go there but I had recall less on Aruba taxi chart. Going home I was charged $13. I asked a friend who drives a cab there and she said they both got it wrong it's $14. I looked up chart again and it was $13.
Once back in room I watched the news a little and hydrated. At 2am I woke up to extreme hip pains. I've manage well this trip and was recalling 2019 when I was diagnosed with hip arthritis and had sciatica at the same time. I was tippy toeing every day and now I can manage pain better. I hope to have the hip surgery in the future once I reach the weight loss goal...

Day 7- 9/16/22.
This morning had a light breakfast medium bagel with 1 tube of cream cheese and coffee. I went down to pool at 1030am, put on sunscreen. I lasted 20 minutes sunning as it was very hot and I was sweating a lot. I swallowed a pint of water easily. Jumped in the pool and spent about an hour doing stretches, pool walking, swimming. Some guests were disappointed because the water aerobics guy called in sick. This lady staying there teaches at a Y 3 times a week so she took out her boom box and taught the class. A lot of people joined her. She turned out to be way better than the guy at the resort.
I bought a nice roast beef sandwich to eat in the room on balcony for lunch. Again after 20 minutes it was just too damn hot!!!Right now temp is 90 but it says feels like 100. I believe it...Other than last Saturday, this feels like the hottest day all week.
Well it's time for my 2pm nap. Dinner tonight at Patritza which I will write about later...
That's pretty cool the lady staying there held the water aerobics class anyway since the usual guy was out. I'm sure folks were happy to be able to attend that. I love water aerobics! I do my own in the ocean and poolsgreat exercise. Enjoying your trip report Ace, thanks for posting.
I’m hoping that Patrizias is still as good as it was in July when they had their crew from New York in Aruba to help with the grand opening. We had the eggplant parm, a side of spaghetti and the veal piccata. It was excellent. I hope your meal is as good! We’ll be back in Aruba Oct. 3-17 and are planning to eat there again so I’m very much looking forward to your review.
Stay cool... and enjoy your dinner. I too, wanna hear about it....!
