Sounds amazing. I may have to finally check out MJ’s but note to self - not on the last day because of
leftovers. I love chocolate mousse and lamb. Love mojitos. Glad it’s been a great trip, Ace.

BTW, your triple negative joke WAS funny

What a great day (except for your hip issues) I love MJ and love that you were treated extra special the second time around. Safe travels and thanks again for taking us along on your trip.

    Check out day 9/18.

If your resort offers early check out go for it! It saves time standing on long lines in the morning. My check out was Saturday morning but I settled my bill Friday evening after dinner and was 80% packed. All I had to do in the morning was finished packing mostly toiletries, sun tan lotions, repellent, shaving cream, leave room and drop off room keys at desk or give it to the bell man like I did.

Left the Divi Phoenix at 10am and my taxi driver Melody picked me up to take me to the airport. I met her back on December 2020 trip. I did not connect with her on my May 2021 trip. For some reason she couldn't make it but would send a friend to pick me up. I'm glad I got to see her and chat a little about Island Life, her son etc.

Arrived at Airport around 10:20am I say. The lines for check in were very long! Thank god I was flying Mint and went right up to counter. Otherwise, my poor hips would not withstand the long wait on line. I received the wheel chair service this time as it is a lot of walking. I did wake up fine but did have some pain even when I tried walking a little with the wheel chair as a walker. Went thru the security check points easily. Stopped by duty free prior to US Customs to pick up some Gouda Cheese. There was a line at Custom but not too bad. Thank god for Global Entry and zipping thru. I think it took like 40 minutes from check in to gate 8 and that included a 10 minute wait sitting on wheel chair waiting for an attendance the Gouda cheese shopping.

I originally was scheduled for the late flight which left after 2pm and landed at 720Pm at JFK. However, there were plenty of mint seats available on first flight so I made the change, no penalty, same price and landed at JFK 5:45pm. i was home by 7pm.

Miss Daisy was happy saying Thank the lord for bringing my son back safe and sound. :>) She will be 97 on Oct 1st god willing. I heard there was an argument with the home attendant but she put her in her place reminding her that she works for her. Ms Daisy is nice not like some patients that are demanding. She just called the girl out on account that she went to wash a pot in the kitchen sink but she had raw chicken in a bowl that was also inside the sink. So there was a possibility of dish dertergent getting into the bowl with chicken. I heard the Attendant got upset when Ms Daisy called her out and ordered her to go to bed. She will be delt with but most likely fired..Something always happens when I'm away but my brother who was staying with Ms Daisy should have straighten this out right away. It happened like mid-week of my vacation.

Overall despite the stomach issues, hip pains on the brighter side the weather was perfect, less crowds, the resort, beach, pool, jacuzzi, happy hour were great. I always say, I rather be sick somewhere else than home. I will deal with these health issues and hopefully in the future can continue to enjoy Aruba and do a little more.

    This concludes my trip report.

glad that you are home and that travel day was not too much of a "PIA" just a pain in the hips

Ace, I enjoyed your trip reports and I'm glad that you were able to get away. It sounds like using the wheelchair in the airport was a wise choice. I hope that you can get some rest before you go back to work. Hopefully, you won't be as sore by tomorrow. Best of luck with the caregiver situation. Good help is hard to find. I've got to move my mom soon from her current assisted living apartment, because of her financial situation, and it's really stressing me out. She's very happy where she is and I hate having to make a change. It's hard caring for an aging parent. We just want what's best for them.
