Wow, your arrival experience was so much different than ours. We literally breezed through. Glad you made it here safe and sound, does that first class seat on the 737 Max have grip marks in it? And how appreciative was the flight attendant that got the Dunkin cards? Will PM you later, we're moving today.

MCO to MIA on one of the AA’s Max 8 and it was fine!
Smooth, no bumps and a 40 minute flight.
Our flight attendant in 1st was kind of outrageous, and I pocketed what should have been his Dunkin gift card.
When it was time for a quick beverage service, he announced to the 16 of us that AA and he were not obligated to offer us anything on such short a flight. He was not joking.
He then said since there were a few requests he would honor them.
    His attitude really was poor.
    The flight was FULL.

    MIA to AUA
We had quite a walk, per my walking app, it was 4103 steps.
We had an hr and half between flights so we were good.
We had enough time to use the restrooms and sit and eat our bananas and drink some coffee.
Service in 1st was great. Our flight attendant got 2 Dunkin cards for his efforts. (thanks Walt for the good idea)
The beverages soft and otherwise flowed and the choice was turkey on rye or a cheese cracker and grapes kind of box lunch thing. We took the turkey.
I also had more coffee. It was probably my 5th cup and it was terrible airline coffee.

The flight was smooth, we did not go spiraling down in a ball of flames which is what I had envisioned since it was also a Max 8. (when dear son was at our house we gave him the instructions……….here is where the will is, here is our financial stuff…..just call Al and he will know what to do, if you do not want the dog or cats make sure they get good homes and please do not spend big $ on funeral etc)

Arrival into AUA was a kaka show (thanks Stephen).
There were lines upstairs of at least 500 people waiting to be allowed downstairs to immigration We waited 45 min. The line downstairs was probably 45 min long to get to the immigration office. 2 x we were asked to show our check mark and our covid test results.
Our bags were waiting, we grabbed them and bypassed Duty Free and then another 30 minute line for Aruba Customs. KA KA show.

I renewed my Setar Sim in my phone……..why pay Verizon $10 day when I can get 8 gb data for $26?
We use the data in areas of no free wifi.

Hans quickly brought us to the office, we grabbed our car and checked into LaCabana at 4:30.
    We were tired and grouchy.

We did make a quick pit stop to Lings to buy a few essentials and were out of there in 15 min.

We did grab a frozen beverage at the Pata Pata bar……We had roast beef sandwiches and fruit salad for dinner in.

I have some deliveries to make tomorrow afternoon.

Some friends here on the island have us transport some things that are just unable to be bought here or are super expensive here. So, they send things via Amazon or other mail order shopping and we are the delivery people. As I give them their….vitamins, watercolor pencils, crutch tips, windshield wiper blades, scuba regulator….I sing… “the Wells Fargo Wagon is a’comin down the street”. I try to do it with the lisp that Ron Howard had when he sang it to Shirley Jones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8LHlJSBkg0
We wandered over to the Alhambra and made a small donation.

Now, back here to LaCabana where I am told they are at 70% occupancy.

I drew the short straw to grab a spot at 7 am poolside.
    His nibs will sleep in!

That is all………………and to all a good night.
The dreaded travel day...it's bad enough, without taking all that time to get out of the airport. Hope you both enjoy your stay!

I always thought it would be less crowded at Aruba airport on a weekday but you never know what flights are coming in. Glad you started your vacation at La Cabana and with 70% capacity I guess things are starting to pick up. One of my coworkers is staying at La Cabana. Her first trip to Aruba. She has been there since last Sunday and leaves this Sunday. I forgot to send her the link to the forum before she left but I guess she will tell me about her trip next week.

    Have fun!

A bunch of the Thursday arrival folks today in the pool were all talking about the airport overload coming out of the arrival gate area.
We r all quite recovered and relaxed. The common thought was that alcohol helped
