Andrea, if you have problems with the photos feel free to send them to me and I’ll try to post them. I’m glad Alhambra has been good to you. Aren’t the 88 Fortune machines fun!!! I’m hoping to find the Crazy Rich Asians machine when we go to Vegas. If you see it in Aruba, let me know

    May 9 Sunday

A very weird and annoying weather day.
We got out to the pool at around 8 and the sun was out and all was delightful.
We ate our bagels and fruit salad at our table poolside and the clouds rolled in and it began to drizzle. The sun then shone and we got in an hour of water walking and trying to dodge people and swim a few laps. We crossed the street and headed into the ocean and stayed for about 20 minutes before the clouds built up again and more drizzle.

We took advantage of the crummy weather and ran over to SuperFood for the “almighty asparagus”……….then back to the pool until the sun and then drizzle and then real rain caused us to throw in the towel.

We went to the Alhambra for an hour and it was ugly.

We headed to Alto Vista for a few prayers and the rain was now like a tropical storm so we came back to Lacabana for a drink in our room and then some facetiming with the grandsons and their parents. Our son begins his new career tomorrow, with an engineering and research company that develops chemical coatings for turbines…wind, jet engine and other kind of turbines (diesel I think). He made a tough decision to leave the Dept of Defense..NavSea and take the plunge into the private sector. He is nervous and excited.

So now it is still raining and it is time to throw the tenderloins kebabs on the grill.
    Ummm, not gonna happen.
So into the frying pan. God, I really hated to do that, but they did taste fabulous and we actually did not miss the grill.

We ventured up to the Marriott casino, and lasted an hour but it was pretty boring.
My ADD kicked in and I was just pushing the buttons and daydreaming and wanting to go back for a cocktail and tv.

Tracey, we have crystal light fruit punch w/ coconut rum and lime! Excellent.

Tomorrow……..hoping for lots of sun and much time in the water.
    Gotta burn off that dinner.

    As an addendum……… some thoughts.
Do some of these people poolside, beach, restaurants and casinos have clothing issues?
Do they not notice how they look in a mirror? Does nobody love them enough to say…….”Oh dear God, put on something presentable and less vulgar.”
My eyes are real sore…………from the eyerolling that Paul and I do to each other.
I thank God every day that my mother taught me about being appropriately dressed.

We have called for housekeeping 4x since Friday.
We wanted to ask that our room be made up in the morning as we are usually out by 8.
No sign of housekeeping and a call to the management office told us that our room would be done by 3 pm today. It was not.
Called housekeeping again, gave them our room number and made inquiry about when the room was to be done. We were told, that room number you gave us is not valid as that room is under refurbishment.
    It’s now a joke.
I am done with it. Paul can now try.
We have emptied our trash, brought used towels to housekeeping and retrieved clean towels.
I am learning to live without housekeeping.

Glad you guys are having a great time. All winter at the Marriott, you could call once a week for xtra towels and other supplies. They would only bring them to your doors. You only got the weekly cleaning, and you had to be out of the room. Things are still not normal, but hopefully we will be back to a more normal one of these days. Enjoy some sunshine for me. We have 2 nights of a hard frost in Indiana.
