Had to drink more Grey Goose today since no diet coke was available on the island. lol Headed to Surfside for lunch and had spicy shrimp platter which was really good. Saw a kayaking tour that appeared they were bar hopping, which look like fun

Then went to Renaissance for a drink, lost money in the casino and dinner at West Deck. Another great day in Aruba!

Yesterday we just laid out on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was a little windy so it did not feel as hot. We just ate cheese and crackers on balcony for lunch and walked to Paddock for a grilled grouper sandwich for dinner. It was delicious. Since COVID when we arrive we are instructed on the rules of partying late in the parking lot. We always find it funny, cause that is the last place I will be at night, but locals love it. Last year the parking lots were really quiet, so I am assuming the curfew has been extended cause the parking lot near Talk of the Town was active last night with a lot of music. But it does not affect our sleep.

Oh just to lay on the beach. What a great time you're having. Thanks so much for sharing. I don't get hanging in the parking lot either.

We are staying at Surfside right now, but headed to LaCabana on Thursday.  Pre-Covid we liked staying at 4 different hotels/resorts during our 2 week stay.  We enjoy the different aspects on each part of the island.  We had always like staying at the Renaissance downtown for a few nights since we liked walking around downtown.  Since covid we have limited our stay to only 2 different resorts.  The island was so quiet last year, much more activity happening aroung the island this year.  Although, most restaurants and bars are still taking covid seriously and are wearing masks and tables are far enough apart.  I normally travel for work so changing hotels every few days is the the norm, except my job was placed on a pause before we left for Aruba due to covid and staffing issues.  As much as I would like covid to be over and let me do the job I love, it did make it easier for having my packing ready.  Our trips to Aruba are so different from pre-covid.  We had decided last year sitting in aruba and not doing anything is better than being home in -13 degree weather and lots of snow.  So this year is a lot like last year.  Beach, eat, drink and repeat.  Boring but great.  We previously would go listen to bands at Bugaloe and do several snorkeling excursions, but not until things get better.  So today was lounging on the beach, reading and then headed to Bingo's.  I don't normally order salads at restaurants at home, but something about Bingo's (and Bugaloe) grouper salads that I always want to order.  They taste so fresh and great light salad dressings.  Bingo's is one of our favorite restaurants on the island.  We love the Shrimp Escargots, the Salad of the Sea and the Pork Tenderloin.  The service there is always wonderful.

Yes the staff is so wonderful here. But you can tell restrictions have lifted for the parking lots. Aruba should consider either putting in place restrictions or enforcing rice rocket motorcyclists racing. There is a lot of it going on and it is loud.

I correct my statement about enforcing control about the number of motorcyclists in the parking lot. At 8:45 pm last night a large police presence with sirens were heading to the parking lot behind reflections to disperse the crowd. They had them all out by 9pm.

I did not miss the parking lot partying over the past year or so. Our first year here,we were woken around 4 am by people blaring their music from across the street at Eagle Beach. It had to be so loud to travel that far and through closed doors and wake me up.

Since yesterday was a holiday and a lot of people made it a 4 day weekend, I can imagine it must have been bad by you.

You could tell the police had a tactical plan to handle the situation since many sirens came all at the same time. You could hear the motorcyclist group (over 40) revving up their engines to challenge the police, so they brought in more force and took control quickly. We were impressed on how quickly that had everything under control. We have stayed downtown during carnival and it didn't even compare. Like you said, I think this was a four day weekend and they did not want it to end.
