We’ve talked to two gentlemen that seem to be maybe managers that have asked us if we are enjoying our stay and to let them know if we need anything. Most of the workers seem like they have been here a long time which is nice. I look around, especially on the beach, and hope this little slice of paradise doesn’t change too much. I know progress has to happen but I hope it doesn’t get too big. I guess we’ll see.

I’m hoping they don’t change much but they were talking about expanding. Hope we get back before that happens.

    SUNDAY
We had breakfast at Ike’s again. It seems a bit more crowded today. Since we still have the car we decided to take advantage of it. We stopped at the Butterfly Farm since you can go back with your ticket. We got some nice pictures. Then we went to the bird sanctuary. I think we see more birds sitting under our palapa. It’s probably not the time of year. I did get an up close picture of a pelican floating in the pond. We drove up to the California Lighthouse since we’ve never been. Wow, the views are amazing! Came back and packed snacks for the beach. We hung out under our palapa for a few hours. Bob came back to the room and I did my usual jump in the pool. We decided to try Ricardo’s for dinner. It was good, not great, but the sunset location made up for it. We were back in the room around 9pm. We sat on the patio with our Bailey’s. That’s all for now.

Thanks for sharing. We agree on Ricardo’s - atmosphere amazing but food just ok unless you go for all you can eat grouper night or rib night. Enjoy!

Here's a question: Does Manchebo still have the complimentary coffee at the corner of the bar at Ike's in the morning?

No, they now have muffins, pastries and coffee for purchase. That would have been nice though.

    MONDAY
Boy, the days are flying by. We went to Ike’s for breakfast again. It was pretty crowded. We noticed that a lot of people are wearing green bracelets, that means they are doing AI. Maybe they’re first time visitors to Aruba. To me it’s not worth it, especially since there’s only 2 restaurants on site. Well, you have the PegaPega for lunch. That’s my opinion but I know some people only go AI.

After breakfast we decided to drive up to the Alto Vista Chapel. In all my girls trips over the years, I’ve never been. It was so quiet and serene and the views were amazing. Bob thought it was sad as there was a dog there by itself. I told him that he had a collar on so he belonged to someone. I told him he probably lives nearby and likes to hang out there. We took quite a few pictures and then decided to make a quick stop in Super Foods. We wanted to get some Dutch products to take home.

We packed some cheese and crackers and beverages and hit the beach for a few hours. I did my usual jump in the pool to cool off. We showered and decided to go to Fishes & More for dinner. The filet mignon was cooked just right and was so tender. It was a great meal. Palm Beach was really crowded. We went in a few shops and decided to go back to Manchebo. We just love the peace and quiet here. We listened to the Yankees on Sirius (another win) on the patio with our Bailey’s.

All in all another great day in Aruba!

We enjoy the restaurants at Manchebo but prefer not to do the AI. It’s fun to get out and try different places.

We feel the same way, Peg. We enjoy Ike’s and The Chophouse too. We like to explore other restaurants, especially new ones for us.
