Enjoy your last day in paradise. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels!
Thanks to Bob for doing the Brights for me..... but it wasn't quite the same as doing my own! So sorry your trip is winding down. I've totally enjoyed your reports. Enjoy and make the most of your last full day! We're really looking forward to taking your spot at Pega Pega next week at this time!
A wise man is easily fooled. But, only a fool would fool a wise man!
Hope you are enjoying your last full day. Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. Safe travels!
We kept your seat warm at Pega Pega and it will be waiting for you and Patti. Love you wife’s name as I’m a Patti too! Our 10 days went by fast but we had so much fun. We hope to be back in Nov. to celebrate our anniversary. Glad you enjoyed our reports. We look forward to yours next week and hope you can tell us about your big casino win!
A FINAL WRAP UP
We got to the airport around 10am for our 1:50pm flight. I told Bob since it was a Fri. we probably didn’t need that much time. I was right. They didn’t have the United counter opened yet. After about 10 min. someone came. We sailed right thru and we’re at the gate by 10:40am. Our flight left a few min. early. Thank God I had downloaded some shows to watch since we did even have the TV screens. We had our pre-flight cocktails so all was good. We landed early in Newark but had to wait for a gate to open up. The airport was so busy! The traffic at the airport was crazy. Our friend who was picking us up said he was in traffic about 30 min. I guess Fri. night is busy with people flying in and out.
I surprised Bob with 4 Brights that I smuggled in my suitcase. Saturday night I asked him if he felt like an Amstel Bright. He said too bad we weren’t in Aruba. I opened the fridge and pulled one out. I told him he 3 more. It was a nice surprise.
We’re planning to go back in Nov. for our anniversary. Airfare is off the charts right now and flights have been reduced. It looks like we’ll be there for Thanksgiving. I know some of you have been down there at that time. I remember reading that some restaurants have the whole Thanksgiving dinner. I know it’s a ways off, but any info would be appreciated.
Thanks for coming along with us and I look forward to everyone’s trip reports!
We’ve been in Aruba a number of times for Thanksgiving. Our last trip was 2019. It used to be that Thanksgiving week was a quiet time but over the years it has gotten busier and busier. It’s surprising how many restaurants do the Thanksgiving menus. Just be aware that while they offer turkey dinners it may not be served with the sides you are used to. Quinta delCarmen did a turkey dinner one year with a cranberry based sauce instead of gravy; Elements did a buffet with turkey for the holiday and interestingly enough, one of our best turkey dinners was at the Divi AI! Now that the testing on the return has been eliminated I was looking at airfares for Thanksgiving week and the fares were off the charts! We may look at early December for a return but time will tell.
You were lucky at the airport on Friday. My sister-in-law and husband flew back to Boston on Friday and said it was an absolute zoo with the line outside the building.
Thanks for sharing your vacation with us!!
I think those with flights after 2pm have a different (worse) experience than those who have earlier flights. But most of us have no choice. We have to go with the time our airline offers return flights.
