Delightful stay at Manchebo Beach Resort!

We were in Aruba March 1 to March 16th.

This was our 17th visit to Aruba. For the past 8 visits, we have chosen to stay at Manchebo Beach Resort. There are many reasons I could cite: the fantastic beach; the beautiful rooms; the great food; the close proximity to everything we enjoy --but the #1 reason we come back to Manchebo is the staff! Sandra at the front desk was most helpful when we had to cancel our plans in 2020 due to COVID. She was equally helpful when it was possible once again to visit the island. She answered endless questions about how to maneuver the paperwork so that everything was in order making our arrival at the airport seamless.

Once at Manchebo, where we stayed for two weeks in a garden room --we choose the garden rooms because the gardens are truly beautiful. Ours included a small pavilion where I could sit and read when the sun on the beach was too hot in the afternoon [room 54]. We asked for and were given a ground floor room --so convenient for us oldsters. Satchel greeted us and took us to our room offering refreshing Mojito as we checked in. He never failed to greet us when we left or came back to the resort. Ana kept our room spotless and was completely unobtrusive. The front desk asked when we'd like the room done --and it was always done at that time. It was lovely to return from the morning's walk on the beach to find everything tidy.

I am an early riser and do enjoy my coffee while watching the day break over the ocean while sitting on a beach chair. William on the beach was one step ahead of me every morning. After introducing himself the first morning; he never failed to have a chair set out with two clean towels before I walked the few steps from our room to the beach at 6: 30AM. I really appreciated that effort on his part. One happy island is truly happy when someone takes the time to do something special like that each day. On days when William was off; Joshuel made sure the chair and towels were there!

After coffee on the beach, I would make my way to the fitness center. Here Manchebo has once again excelled. One expects a beautiful, clean, well-maintained property in Aruba -- which Manchebo certainly is --with lovely gardens as well ---but to find a state-of-the-art fitness center with a view of the beach that included every type of exercise machine was totally unexpected and over the top. I did my usual 30 min of bike, then had to choose between, bands, poles, kettle balls, free weights, a universal machine, and -one I'd not seen before --a TRX system. I prefer to work out alone, but Manchebo offers beach-side Yoga and Pilates classes too. I think I will have to try that next time.

Back at the beach --I always walked by the beautiful pool to return to my chair on the beach just to look at it --I did intend to swim, but did so in the ocean. Again, next time! About lunchtime, without fail Alexjandria would come by for orders for lunch or drinks. She was so pleasant with a smile every day. After bringing lunch and drinks, she would encourage us to see her again for happy hour (5-7) --which we did.

The food and drinks were all excellent at Manchebo --Ignacio is the bartender at the beach bar --he makes great drinks. And like the rest of the staff, after a day or two, remembered our names and what we preferred. Although Jason was not our waiter --he often stopped by where we sat in the Pavilion in the shade to watch the sunset after a full day of beach time --enjoying Ignacio's concoctions . . . Jason made suggestions on what was good to order at the three restaurants at the resort, and took the time to suggest activities on the island.

We visited the Donkey Sanctuary twice --quite fun! We drove around the island and to Baby Beach. Each night we had dinner at a good sport --other than the restaurants at Manchebo, we enjoyed Passions on the Beach the most.

Quiet two weeks --but such a good time!

We will be back to Aruba next year --and we will stay at Manchebo -- --in the past we have stayed at other resorts --including the high rises --but Manchebo is our favorite --great beach, great rooms, great food, and most of all, great people!

So wonderful to hear all is well at Manchebo. You mentioned so many of my favorite people there. Makes me even more excited to see them all again in August. Did you go to the spa? Welcome home!

Thanks for making me homesick for Manchebo... But, really thanks for sharing your wonderful stay. This will be the second year we'll not be able to go. Hopefully next year.... and Manchebo is truly the best resort on the island for the people, beach and quiet!

I really enjoyed reading your report about Manchebo. We especially love Ignacio, and whenever we are in Aruba, we stop by and visit with him. We accidentally discovered Manchebo on our first visit to Aruba, eleven years ago. Our flight home was canceled due to snow, and we found some extra nights available at Manchebo. We have stayed there many times when we have added on extra nights after our timeshare stay. It truly is such a special place.
