Your trip has been packed with great dining, walking, shopping and exploring. The tour with Bully was very exciting. Nice photos. Bully gave us a great tour on one of our visits. It was just perfect. He looks wonderful and has done a good job keeping his weight loss stable. Have a wonderful time. Your Aruba story is always fun filled. We have to do more exploring downtown.Enjoy your day. Love 5he post reading the strangers hiding in the bushes. Another fun thing to remember.

I'm really behind with my reports. I'm trying to remember what we did each day, but the days are running together. I think that we spent Wednesday on the private island. We decided to try the new Amuse Barbecue for dinner. Tom ordered the ribs and I ordered the beef brisket. The beef brisket was good but the ribs had a strange flavor. We really didn't like them. They were also on the dry side. Both came with a choice of two sides. I thought that the potato salad was good, but the other sides were bland. I think that this is a one and done for us. I really want them to do well, but with a chef of this caliber, I expected better.

Amy Sorino always sings at the Renaissance Marketplace on Wednesday nights, so we went to Dutch Pancake House for dessert, to get a good seat. We shared a sweet, delicious pancake, and listened to Amy for a while. She is my favorite entertainer in Aruba. Afterwards, we went back to the room and sat on the balcony.

I'm back in the room for lunch so I'm going to try to catch up a little bit. We hung out at the lagoon Thursday. Sean and Susan (Crimms) stopped by for a surprise visit, and we had a good time talking and laughing with them.
Thursday night we went on the Kukuu Kunuku wine tour. One of the guests at Renaissance had arranged it months ago, and we had a private charter. We did this on our own last year and loved it, so we were anxious to do it again. Three of the stops were ones that we had before, White Modern, Aqua Grill for more yummy crab cakes, and La Braise. Dessert was at Taste of Belgium, which was new to us. We had lots of fun and lots of laughs, and got to meet some of the regulars that are here this time every year.

Friday - Valentine's Day was another moving day for us. We've now moved to three places, but are still at Renaissance for another week. The check in people told me that I had to check out by 12:00 and wait until 4pm to check into the new room. Every other place that we've stayed has allowed us to make the move at 1:00. I decided to go down to the new room (the one by the bushes) and see if the maid was there, just to let her know that we were moving down, hoping that maybe she could have the room ready a little earlier. We had milk and some other items that we were going to put in the cooler, but I was hoping that we could get them in the refrigerator a little early. She checked and told me that the room was ready, so I went and checked us out, sent the bell man to the room, and met Tom and the bellman with all of our stuff in the hallway. We were in the new room by 10:30.

We had planned on spending the day by the lagoon since it was moving day. I have another funny Hatteras story. There were a lot of cruisers coming over and plopping down in Renn's chairs, There are signs posted that say private property, but everyone ignores them. One guy from the ships got a chair and for some reason, pulled it up right next to me, even though there was tons of beach open. I watched him out of the corner of my eye. I saw him take a flimsy woman's scarf out of his back pack and wrap it around his waist. I quickly realized what he was up to. This scarf covered nothing. As soon as he started to unbuckle his belt, I yelled no, no, no! This really startled him, and he looked at me quite puzzled. I wasn't sure if he spoke english, so I kept repeating "no." There were tons of kids on the beach, and I wasn't about to let him undress out there in the middle of the beach, plus I didn't want a close up show of his bare bottom. He then said that this was public beach and he had a right to change here. I told him that nudity is not allowed in Aruba, there are children right here, and that there are private property signs. He got quite angry and we had a stand off for several minutes. There was no way that I was backing down. I glanced around and saw lots of people watching and laughing at this little old lady having a stand off with some man. He finally gave up and left and everyone was laughing that I had run him off.

Later, we cleaned up and walked to Pincho's for our Valentine's Day Dinner. Lots of the Carnival parades start this weekend, and the sidewalks are lined with huge tents, chairs, and port o potties. Walking was challenging because there are large cement blocks anchoring the tents, and other obstacles to walk around. Some of the vehicles park on the sidewalk, so sometimes we had to walk in the road.

We had a lovely dinner out on the newer pier, but it was quite windy. The food and service were great. We decided to take a cab back to avoid the obstacle course, but after waiting for quite a while, we gave up and walked back to Renaissance.
