    Hatteras trip report. 6/4/21 - 6 /18/21

We arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon. The lines at the airport are no joke. We were the fifth people off of the plane and it took about 45 minutes to get out of the airport. I can't imagine how long it took the people who were sitting near the back of the plane to get through. Bully sent Ivan to pick us up since he's still not working.

Heads up to people coming to Costa Linda. Their main server was hacked several weeks ago and is being held for ransom for millions of dollars. This is for all of the Royal Resorts, the parent company. Instead of paying the ransom, they are trying to rebuild the network. They are checking everyone in manually, so it took almost as long to check in as it did to get out of the airport. Anything that you purchase at the bar, etc. has to be paid with cash or a credit card.

We unpacked a few things, grabbed some frozen beverages from the bar and headed to the beach for a few hours. Afterwards, we continued our first night tradition of sharing a pizza at Pizza Bob's. Then we picked up a few things at the convenience store by Alhambra and called it a day. We crashed early because we had been up since 2am.

We have no plans for today or tonight, just going to relax. Masks seem not to be taken too seriously by most tourists. Many had them below their noses or hanging off of their chins at the airports, and on the planes, the flight attendants had to give a lot of reminders to pull them up. Most people are not wearing them outside around the resort, or over by Alhambra. Pizza Bob's had everyone put a mask on and sanitize their hands before they could enter. We feel pretty safe, knowing that all of the tourists had to test negative to be here.

    Thank you for sharing!!
I am glad that Bully sent Ivan...I was wondering the outcome

We found that all employees and vendors at LaCabana wore their masks outside, which I find kind of weird.
I do not believe wearing a mask outside is necessary.
Inside, all people were required to wear a mask and they did.
Our flight attendants too were reminding people to "mask up".

I have never eaten at Pizza Bob, only take out.
Is it indoor dining or outside?

So glad that you are there!!
    Enjoy every minute and relax

I did contact the other driver that I had mentioned to you but I never heard back from him. It was no big deal. We figured we'd look outside for a sign with our name, and if we didn't see one, we'd just get in the taxi line. It was nice of Bully to take care of this.

We don't wear masks outside at home but planned on complying with Aruba's rules. All of the staff is wearing masks outside. They look hot and uncomfortable.

All of Pizza Bob's is outside. It was amusing to watch the host make everyone dig out their masks and put them on, sanitize their hands, to be led to a table where they would sit down and immediately take them off. Seemed kind of silly but fun to watch.

Glad you made it. Ask one of the servers on the beach to pull down their mask and show you their tan line.

Great you made it. Not too happy to hear about the computer hacking. Not to get off topic but just when we are starting to get over covid something new with hackers affecting GAS, Meats and now hotels. What's to come of this world!

Looking forward on hearing more about your trip.
