Quite a lot of work just for some groceries..... and then back to the beach..... We enjoyed Las Ramblas some years back.... but the flies were tough that night so we never went back!
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

Congrats on the weight loss. I so need to do that. Your trip sounds great. I hope things improve with your mom-I know the past 18 months have been difficult for her. I wish I was there with you.

Someday I'll tell you all my Antonio story. For now, suffice it to say both of this girl's cheeks have been kissed by the one and only Antonio!

Thanks, Robin. I soooo wish that you and Stu were here! Covid left my mom in really rough shape, mentally. She had a pretty bad breakdown a few days before I left, and it was very hard to leave her. I'm calling her a lot and so far, she sounds happy. She might not even remember. I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys in February! Hopefully, I'll still have the weight off, but it will be a struggle. I haven't been this size in over 20 years.

Flies weren't too bad. There was one or two, but they quickly went away when the sun went down.

Yep, it's probably a one and done for us.

Tuesday- Just another lazy day in Paradise! We purchased blow up noodles on Amazon and spent part of the afternoon floating in the water. They worked very well. I think that someone on this board recommended them, maybe Tracey? The rest of the day was reading, napping, and talking to our palapa neighbors.

After happy hour, we cleaned up and walked to Matthews at Casa Del Mar. We used to dine here every year, but it had been a long time since we'd been there. They sat us in the cute high back wicker chairs, along the perimeter of the dining room. They brought us cushions for the seats and for our backs. I don't know what they are called, but they are partially enclosed on the sides and a little over the top. It felt very private and was a fun experience.

Tuesday was all you can eat rib night and Tom was all in. He polished off a large slab and 1/2 of another. He said that they were delicious. I had the appetizer crab cake a a side of grilled veggies. The crab cake was good and the veggies were absolutely delicious. We are skipping appetizers and desserts this trip, but Tom did stop off at the convenience store for a Snickers on the way back. The service at Matthews was excellent. So far, this has been our best meal.

Wednesday - pretty much a repeat of all of the other days. We took a long walk on the beach in the morning to try to keep up our exercise. Hung out on the beach until lunch. We floated in the pool with our noodles most of the afternoon. One interesting fact, there was a couple who looked like they were in the 60s making out in the pool, near us. It was weird and very uncomfortable. I wanted to ask if they'd like to move this upstairs to their room, but refrained. Thankfully, the clock said that it was time for happy hour, so that was our cue to leave.

We weren't very hungry so decided to go back to Pizza Bob's for dinner. We showed up in our masks since they were strict about it a few days ago, but the staff has now taken their's off.

There are palapas on the beach open all day, although the resort seems crowded. There are lots of young people in their 20s here, which the regular crowd says is unusual, but I suppose that they are here to blow off some steam, after being couped up for so long. Can't blame them for that. Most of them are well behaved but a couple are incredibly loud, yelling and screaming to each other from all around the resort. It's ok until we go to bed, but I have a sleep sounds app on my tablet and I am able to drown them out.
