Walt, the Lobster Linguini was delicious. We thought about going back again, but a few days later we were tired of eating big meals and started eating lighter meals at Renaissance Marketplace.

It was a long day both ways. I think that I'm getting too old for this. It's taking me longer and longer to recover. I envy you guys with direct flights. A lot of our day (and night coming back) is sitting around airports waiting for our connecting flight. Our last flight didn't leave until 11pm. We do like a lot of the same restaurants.

Been there, done that and hate it.

Thank you so much for sharing your Aruba Story.

Does Taste My Aruba have a set menu or is it a surprise each time?
Taste My Aruba does have a set menu. The fish selection is pretty big but sometimes the fishermen don't catch everything on the menu, although they did have a lot of other fish choices. We don't like a lot of fish which is why we both went for shellfish, which we enjoy. We loved it there.

The long flights are getting harder and harder. Sometimes I say that we should go somewhere that we can fly to directly, but since we usually go in February, there aren't a lot of warm options. We've considered Florida but sometimes it's pretty chilly in February and we want a beach vacation. We're thinking of spending the night on the way home in Charlotte or Atlanta and see if that eases the pain.

Tom won’t fly anywhere that doesn’t offer a direct flight. He’s not a good flyer so a connecting flight would be too stressful. Plus, it just makes too long a day. I think it might help if you did break it up by staying one night in Charlotte.

The grouper with the boursin cheese is one of my favorites.

I understand the frustration with connecting flights. Our flight home in April left Aruba late and we barely had time to use the restroom and get a cold drink before boarding the next flight, then we discovered our luggage was not on the flight.

    Great trip summary!

    Which airline did you travel?

On my recent May trip the lines were outside for American, Southwest and another airline. Jet blue you could walk in but lines were very long. I think Delta had the smallest line.

Thanks for your wrap-up of your trip report. 13hrs is tough, but it always hurts leaving Aruba. We still have not booked a flight in February due to extreamly high prices for a direct flight. 4X as much as Feb this year so far. We are happy you guys made it. We enjoyed your trip reports very much. Hope to see you again nexy year.

Unfortunately it seems that we can only get a direct flight to Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas... you get the idea. Our last trip we stayed overnight at the Atlanta Airport Hilton coming home. It really made the travel quite easy being split into two days. We will probably do this from now on.

Great trip report. I know what you mean about the long day. As I get older, the trip gets harder. Unfortunately for us, there are no direct flights.
