“His Nibs and me” Dec. 01-15, 2022 @ LaCabana

Here I sit staring at my dining room table wondering how in God’s name have we come to accumulate such stacks of stuff that “we must bring.”
Pool floats, grocery reusable bags, card making supplies, yarn and crochet hook, charging cables for devices, coconut rum and baileys…Rtic steel cups and straws, power strip…… just to name a few of the “cannot live without” items. Gawd the table disarray causes much anxiety!

For the most part all of our clothes are packed in the packing cubes and this time we really have cut back on the clothing. Yes, I know….less clothes, more money. I am only bringing 1 purse, or as we say in Massachusetts “pockabook.” Paul’s 6 National Geographics, 15 Time, and 6 Popular Science add to the luggage weight…..He refuses online digital reading! But he does not complain about my 96 alcohol markers or 112 watercolor pencils, so I will try to do better in my complaining about his magazines.

Tobey the cat will have our friends look in daily and to shovel his litter box and feed and water. Lily the dog will go to our friend Bill. He and Lily are old pals and get along well. Bill is the accountant to a lawn servicing company and still works remotely. One of Lily’s beds is on the corner of his desk and she supervises and makes sure that Bill’s accounting stays accurate. She has a small flat pillow on the back of a chair where she can also lounge and see out the window and report any suspicious activity to Bill.

CP...around 3:30pm on Thursday you can begin asking.

All sounds wonderful. Is it worth it to pack baileys and rum due to the added weight in the suitcases which you may have to pay for? Can you not get those bottles at duty free or is it that much more expensive? Enjoy the countdown! Sounds like you have everything in order!

yes, the plan is that if the 2 checked bags are able to be packed comfortably, they will be.
the liquor will be a last minute decision.
if not, will purchase at duty free.

I can totally relate. After this trip I have decided my 28 inch suitcase is just too big to manage. It will be used for storage or long road trips. I’ve already ordered a 24 inch from Kohl’s cyber Monday sale. I also need to downsize my “what ifs”. I also need to bring less clothes. I too bring one “pockabook” and 3 pairs of Spenco slides ( one for the beach/pool ). Relax, I think you have plan for everything. Two more sleeps and you’ll be there!

I can relate with you Andrea - I do the same thing with my "must haves" - they make me happy, calms my anxiety, etc., etc. there are just some things you need to bring with you when vacationing

So excited for you and Paul and so looking forward to reading your trip report and updates. Thursday is almost here!

I too ordered and used the 24-inch suitcase for my last trip and it worked out so much better, it also has the 360 degree wheels and what an amazing design! Was super easy rolling and handling. Best idea!
